Lots of Tool Deals – 1/5/26

Acme Tools Cyber Remix Tool Deals 1-5-2026

There are lots of new tool deals – here are some of the deals and promos that seemed worth mentioning.

Home Depot – tool deals of the day for 1/5/2026 – Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ryobi, and a couple of gas engine snow blowers

Acme Tools – clearing out Cyber Monday deals – many interesting tool deals, some not so much

One of the best deals is a Fein AmpShare (Bosch 18V compatible) MultiMaster oscillating multi-tool kit for $99. You can’t even get Dewalt’s entry-priced OMT kits for that price right now.

Save on Mitutoyo QuantuMike Micrometers at MSC – this one requires a bit of explaining.

Reader KMR sent a heads-up (thank you!!) that MSC has deep discounts on Mitutoyo’s new QuantuMike digital micrometers.

The promo includes their 0-1″ (linked above), 1-2″, 2-3″, and 3-4″ sizes.

Once you navigate to their product page, scroll down and you’ll see the following:

Mitutoyo QuantuMike Digital Micrometer Deal at MSC

So far, the only way to get the $260 price is to click the on-page promo link.

Frustratingly, MSC has 4 different prices for these tools. For the 0-1″ micrometer, it’s $358 if you check their site. When signed in, I see the price as $349.05. It’s on the cover of one of their latest sales flyers for $286.39. And if you still see the on-page promo, it’s $260.

KMR (thank you again!) said:

Mitutoyo’s Quantumikes are the most accurate mics I am aware of, at a sub $1000 price point. +/- 1 micron accuracy, with a display resolution to 1 micron as well, along with the fast pitch spindle for quicker spindle movement. They have SPC data out, to allow data collection via optional cable or optional wireless module. We’ve moving our shop more an more towards Industry 4.0. So data collection and retention being a huge goal to enable in process QC.

I’m a fan of Mitutoyo test and measuring tools and KMR’s description has me considering giving this a try in the 0-1″ size. Regardless, this does seem to be a good promo.

There are more deals, but I’m burnt up from tool deals right now. With mass media sites declaring everything to be an amazing deal right now, it’s even more reason for me to avoid.

For example, one site touted how Amazon has a Milwaukee 6-in-1 FastBack utility knife for $19, down from $21, or something like that. Sure, I guess that’s okay, but Home Depot still has the 2-pack for $19.97.

Every time I post about deals of the day, I get a couple of nasty comments about how it’s a useless post because it was too late. Do people not understand that it’s not my fault news algorithms push time-sensitive deal posts after they expire.

PSA: Yesterday I received a return request for a product I told everyone I’d never buy (see Komax Face Shield – a Huge NOPE!). Do NOT buy tools from social media ads.

Loutish marketing description per ol’ Abe:

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
    Abraham Lincoln”

In PostPortlandia I find many local (national brand) tool dealers out compete the national chains on many occasions. Is this not an option in across NA?

It’s really hard to “beat” Home Depot just because of how much and how many tools they move. The best you find “locally” is clearance inventory, having it in stock immediately, or sometimes a rare SPIF or non-HD-met rebate (many rebates for the smaller dealers are just available at HD as one of the “special buys”).

Once in awhile you’ll find a local store that has inventory at “last year’s prices” as they haven’t moved it yet and so haven’t updated.

“this one request a bit of explaining.”

I think you meant to say requires?

Thank you, Stuart, for the info on the Acme deal on the Fein Ampshare Multitool. I have a corded Fein but this deal caused my right hand to leap to the order button. I’ll likely gift it to a friend.

Wow, the Fein 18v Ampshare Multimaster is an incredible deal! I have older model 12v and 18v Multimasters and they are a pleasure to use. Easy blade changes with the Starlock system and they both offer low vibration for the user.

There’s a corded version of the Fein also on sale (for folks who don’t want to commit to a different battery system):

The ampshare deal is great. Would definitely hop on it if I did not have so many different battery brands already, alas no Bosch in there.

Those cobras are tempting for the set too. The ideal tool belt looks like a bargain.

Speaking of Mitutoyo, I ordered the 500-196-20 digital calipers from AliExpress last night for $28.30 after coupon. I only have one previous purchase from them which went well, so I rolled the dice. Link here:

Maybe #18 is when they’re sold from “Mitutoyo Store Store” on a Chinese marketplace.

      Just passing along some caution.

I know some people are fond of this crude Canadian guy, he did a video too on the fake Alibaba Mitutoyo calipers:

I’m curious as to how these compare to the real mitutoyos. If I felt like throwing away money, I’d do a comparison, but I’d likely end up just tossing them.

    Hi Stuart,

My last purchase due to your deals of the day was for a Bosch 10″ Profactor Miter saw via Lowes. Buy the 200$ batteries and get 550$ saw free.
It took me 7 weeks with the Store Manager keeping after the Bosch sales rep. I was just happy they honored the deal!

Nasty comments reflect the person giving them, not a reflection on you.

Thanks for all you do bud.

“Do NOT buy tools from social media ads.”…this is a good one.

I got burnt in the past, no more. If I see one of these ads and it has an appealing trait that I would want. First I copy and paste the description, or even their web address to ask if it is legit. Then redo it also as a buy this _______. What often comes up are other versions, much cheaper, and people saying if the product is good or not. And often the same product, but less than half the super price on the media ad.

A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for a soldering station, brand was maybe Fox(?), and rather than having to move 50,000 of these, they were selling them for about $100, or there about, instead of $400-$500. I saw somewhere had mentioned you could get this off Amazon for $30, same MFR, using the same model number PL8700, different brand name.

I held off on the Amazon buy, but will never buy from the media ads again

Oh wow, I already have both tbe older and newer bosch 18v multitools, and definitely don’t need another, but that Fein is SUPER tempting at the price! If I hadn’t gotten the newer Bosch I’d definitely be all over it.

Bosch battery powered 12 inch miter saw on big sale:
Beaver Industrial Supply is showing a very low price on this miter saw:
    https://beavertools.com/gcm18v-12sdn14-bosch-18v-profactor-12-in-slide-miter-saw-kit-with-8-0-ah-core-performance-battery.html
It may be a mistake, the articulating robot arm versions is $459 (but also $901):
    https://beavertools.com/gcm18v-12gdcn-bosch-18v-profactor-12-in-dual-bevel-glide-miter-saw-bare-tool.html
A 10 inch corded version is $242, which is not as great a deal:

BIS also has killer deals on 18v track saw (with and without 8ah battery), 18v table saw, and tracks. Lots of Bosch stuff getting dumped at or below black Friday pricing.

Couldn’t resist grabbing the Fein Ampshare even though I already have a couple of OMTs. Note that a lot of Fein starlock accessories (blades, sander, etc.) are also on sale. I grabbed a couple of those too. Great bundle!

I’ve been waiting for the Bosch StarlockMax cordless to come up at a decent price. This Fein deal just shot that down. What a steal, especially if already on the ampshare platform.

I was able to get the Fein Multitool deal today at $113 tax and shipping included. That’s less than what I paid for the M12 Fuel OMT tool-only which honestly didn’t need replacing but the price was too good to pass and I was never a fan of the Milwaukee’s battery life nor grip.

You should always google acme coupons before ordering… found a $10 off coupon that worked – brought my fein deal down to just about $103 tax plus shipping
