Lowes’ Black Friday 2018 sales flyer has made it to web. As usual, we filtered out everything but the tool deals for easier discussion and reference.
As has happened in the past, Lowes Black Friday deals will go live online on Thanksgiving this year, and you might even be able to catch them a little earlier, such as Wednesday night. Except maybe the doorbusters, which are said to be Friday-only deals.

Unless otherwise noted, the deals are valid 11/22/18 thru 11/28/18.

What do you think about this year’s Black Friday tool deals at Lowes?

The yeti
20 gal compressor 150 US dollars. Thats a good buy.
Sorta disapointed with certain red offerings. Lots of clones of Stanley stuff. I guess it was to be expected.
Looks like some deals to be had. I do not really need anything.
Tom
I was definitely hoping to see some bigger price drops, particularly for the Dremel tools. I was looking to replace an older one, so hopefully there are some better deals on the 4000 model through other retailers. Overall, it looks like a lot of the prices you see online now will hold throughout the holiday season.
Mattd
Yea last year I am pretty sure the 4000 kit was $59.
Toolfreak
The 4000 kit only dropped to $59 for a short while. It was a great buy with a $10 off $50 coupon to make it $49 for sure.
The 3000 kit for $49 is the same price as last year but is still a great buy, use a filler and a coupon to make it ~$40. It comes with the flex extension, which is $25-30+ just by itself.
Greg
Heeeey, there’s that free adjustable miter saw stand I got with the Dewalt DWS 779, though I paid $349 for the saw. I must have fallen into a gap between the old price about to end, and Black Friday sale stuff about to begin. Interesting that they raised the price tag by $50 for the Black Friday sale…
Adam
I believe HD will have the saw & stand for $399 out the door. If you want the stand, buy the new setup, and return the new saw on the old receipt.
Adam
just re-read the post, and see you already got the stand. If the $399 price is better overall, bring your receipt in on that day and have them return/rebuy. If you have a military friend, bring them in for $40 more in savings, they will appreciate the case of beer you buy them 😀
Greg
Actually, the $399 price is worse, I paid $349 yesterday, and got the stand for free too on a fluke (the website auto added it to my shopping cart on their website, but it wasn’t listed anywhere that it would be a free addition). So, the pre-Black Friday sale price was better than the actual Black Friday sale price.
Stuart
That could have been a programming error of some kind.
Jason
I got the same deal, now gotta figure out space to put it!
Ben
Is it still going and how do you get it?
Eric
That 5′ step ladder for $23 sounds like steal isn’t it? I mean u don’t normally get any type of ladder for a little over 20 bucks and the air hose reel hard to find any brand for less than $100 thou have not heard good things about that reel and last is the $40 for the wet/dry vacs not new but still a good deal
Toolfreak
It’s a pretty good price, but only a deal if you can use a 5′ ladder and don’t really need a 6′. Sometimes that extra 1′ is good to have for safety.
Used to be Lowe’s always had a 6′ Werner on sale for BF, last year they had a camo 5′ ladder for slightly more than this one.
Eric
True but if u were just looking for a 4′ ladder to keep in the closet in a basement or something ull spend twice as much
George
I’ve been eyeing the Worx Pegasus tables as a folding work table for my limited garage storage. $99 is a good price. $89 with military discount is even better.
Mattd
I think the homedepot pro black friday had more deals I was interested it. (Granted it was only 2) I just have too much stuff these days to get very excited. And that makes me sad.
Burdsal
Indeed! I looked thru this whole thing and the only thing that caught my eye was the hose reel, but that was just due to the price.
Well, I did also notice that the GIGANTIC screwdriver set at the beginning of the ad and the dumb Craftsman 8pc set both cost $20! smh
Toolfreak
The Kobalt 1/2″ corded electric impact wrench for $99 is a heck of a deal, use a $20 off $100 coupon with a filler to get it for $80. Comes with a hard case and sockets that fit most vehicle lug nut sizes. Plenty of torque, too.
JP
Where are you getting a nice $20 off $100 coupon??? I just purchased the $250 kit combo from Kobalt and Lowes gave me a $10 off $75…
Chris
What are the part #s of those DeWalt items?!?
Stuart
Which ones?
Chris
Anyone have any thoughts on the Bosch freak deal
Stuart
Seems like a very good deal. Ideally, 2 battery packs are better, but at this price, it looks like it could appeal to folks who are already happy with their cordless power tool brand but could stand to benefit from having a 2-in-1 impact driver/wrench.
Toolfreak
$79 ($69 if you use a $10 off $50 coupon) isn’t too bad for the tool, a 2.0Ah battery and charger plus the bag/soft case, but it’s only really a deal if you can use the tool and the specs work for what you want to do with it vs. say, a seperate 18V driver/impact set or even a 12V set.
$199 for the 2-tool hammer drill with the “freak” driver/impact kit is the better deal though, since you get two 4.0Ah batteries rather than one 2.0Ah battery, plus a free tool on top of that.
If you just want the single tool and the single 2.0Ah battery would be fine for a more compact size/lighter weight, I guess that’d be the way to go.
Jordan
I’ve heard it’s not that great of an impact though ??♂️ It would be nice to have one that actually fit in my tool belt though.. my Hilti with a 5.2ah is a bit unwieldy.
Chris
Impact is good but is not he old brushless version. Still a really great deal if you go for the $199 kit with 4ah batteries and free tool (circle saw or recip saw or rotary hammer).
Nathan
so am I reading that right – get a 12 or 16 gallon shop vac for 40 dollars? As I’m in the market for a new one going larger and I was set on the 99 dollar 16 gallon special they had last week – had more kit bits but I mean 59 dollars buys the bits I only need a dust bag of 3.
Stuart
Yep.
We see similar every year – Ridgid, Shop Vac, and Craftsman vac deals.
Sometimes there are compromises, such as on motor power, cord length, hose size, or features, but reviews are always fairly positive.
Robert L
The Craftsman folding miter saw is secretly a Porter Cable – which is on sale now for 99 bucks:)
MT_Noob
Is $39 for the hitachi 18 gauge brad nailer a good deal? I haven’t used a Hitachi nailer before and I am thinking my old Porter Cable nailer may need to be retired. I could look into a rebuild kit for it, but 39 dollars for a whole new tool might be a better idea, assuming it is even halfway decent.
Stuart
I thought so. I bought mine last November when it was on sale for $40 from Amazon.
Thom
Craftsman always was somebody elses tools.. Why it seems to be an issue now confuses me. Western Forge made their pliers, Danaher made the wrenches and sockets in the same factory as Armstrong, the C3 tools made by TTI were almost identical to Ryobi except for the color.. Hell Knipex even made pliers for them identical except for the name… Why is it a problem now? They are still homeowner grade tools at affordable prices.
CT
Yeah, seems like a big deal about a non issue. All Craftsman really needs to be successful is to be a catch-all brand from all of the SBD specialty product lines plus some extra licensed products. That’s all anyone should expect because that’s all Craftsman has ever been.
TonyT
I’d like opinions on the Worx sawhorse deal ($40 for two 32″ clamping) versus the Kobalt deal ($60 for two 42″ adjustable) versus HD Husky sawhorse deal ($20 for two plastic ones)
Thanks in advance

TABLE SAW Question:
The Kobalt for $199
The Hitachi for $299
Both look like great deals.
I’ve never owned one.
Planning to build some closets, garage cabinets, and custom built-in shelving, go from there.
I also like the looks of the Skilsaw SPT99 saws, and the Sawstop Jobsite. Or maybe the cordless Milwaukee (but likely last on the list at this point).
Also considering picking up a track saw – I like the Makita XPS01 (likely PTJ package w/ 4x 5.0ah Batteries for $499).
Thoughts / advice on how happy I would be using any of these and how any of these would likely serve my (hopefully) growing needs/usage?
I was originally very gung-ho on the Hitachi, but when I spent some time with it in store – I thought that the fence attachment to the rails allowed for some play/slop that put me off. The DWE7491RS (the Dewalt saw) has the same issue. All of the other saws with the rack-and-pinion rails have a different fence attachment mechanism that doesn’t seem to have this “flaw”. I was very impressed with the quality of the SawStop when I checked it out in store. Haven’t been able to locate the SkilSaw to do a hands on with…
Seth
For $300 the dewalt with scissor stand would be my choice. I’ve used them for years. I have one on site and one in my garage. And I used one up. The blade height adjust eventually wore out. They are really good saws. Very convenient to store transport and use. There are a lot of YouTube videos on tuning them up and DIY accessories.
Stuart
I really like Dewalt’s. I’d probably be happy with Hitachi, or maybe Ridgid on a budget. There are lots of reviews on Ridgid’s holiday deals, and most are positive.
The SawStop is nice, but pricey. And large. The SawStop has flence deflection on the outfeed side, but it’s by design – sort of. The fence is fixed at the front, and sturdily, and glides freely at the rear.
Six
Looking for a portable miter saw stand. Bought a Dewalt sliding compound miter saw over the summer for $379 at Lowes. Having a tough time stomaching $200 for a stand when they’re giving them away now. Anyone see a good price on a stand ????
Mike S
What about this Ryobi for $59
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-Miter-Saw-Stand-with-Tool-Less-Height-Adjustment-RMS10G/205216315
Six
I like that it’s only $59. For that kind of coin I could probably rig some wheels up. Is it pretty stable?
badbot
Thanks for the heads up. I pulled the trigger on the Lenox hole saw kit. It’s about $15 for one Lenox 2.5inch hole saw, so $39.98 for the kit is a nice deal.
By the way Lowes offers a 10% discount if you are veteran.
