Lowe’s Labor Day Values sales flyer for 2021 included a couple of noteworthy tool deals. I expect to see more tool deals and discounts next weekend; these deals are said to end 9/1/2021, although they might extend beyond that.
They have a couple of deals on Dewalt and Spyder accessories, with Amazon matching the $20 price on the Dewalt 21pc drill bit set.

I would have expected for Dewalt 12V Max Xtreme cordless power tool deals, but 20V Max brushless drill and impact driver deals are still very much welcome.
Lowe’s is starting to really promote their Flex tools. I have been putting more time in with Flex tools, and so far they’re every bit as powerful and long-lasting as advertised.
Lowe’s has another Bosch promo, where you buy a bare tool and get a free Core 4Ah battery and charger starter kit.
There’s a Craftsman 52″ tool box combo, priced at $958. In my opinion, anyone in the market for a close to $1000 tool storage combo should wait two months to see what kinds of deals the winter holiday season brings.

Gladiator cabinets (likely ready to assemble) make an appearance with “special value” pricing.
There’s also a Dewalt 3pc shelving rack on sale. This could be a new development, as I’ve never seen Dewalt’s shelving storage products at their stores before.
Hopefully more tool deals are planned. I know this isn’t a lot, but I’ve received a couple of requests for Labor Day tool deal coverage, and I’m on it.
Are there any tools or deals you’re on the lookout for? Labor Day is usually the last major promo period before the winter holiday shopping season.

I’m looking for a set of metric and SAE reversible ratcheting wrenches. I really like the current Craftsman offerings at Lowe’s, but their sales are lackluster and not worth my time going into the store. Plenty of the same wrench sets on eBay for several dollars less than retail. I’ll probably wind up going that route since Craftsman and Lowe’s don’t like having sales.
Stuart
Gearwrench is a good place to start – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001M0O166/?tag=toolguyd-20 .
I would typically also recommend Tekton, but they’re out of the running right now. https://toolguyd.com/tekton-reversible-ratcheting-wrenches-discontinued/
Joe
Thanks! I’ve always been a GearWrench fan. I happened to look at their ratcheting wrenches at Home Depot a few weekends ago and immediately noticed how thick the open ends are as well as the thickness around the box end. I don’t know if that makes them more durable? They just didn’t look right to me. I had a set years ago that was made in Taiwan and they were super nice. Unfortunately they were stolen from me and I haven’t been able to find an exact replacement set.
Nathan
I’d also cross shop Tekton tools. and for just ratcheting I’d also point you to the double box end ratcheting wrenches – if you already own a set of combination wrenches.

Joe, If you have a Tractor Supply near you, they have great deals on Gearwrench sets

Ends 9/1 ?
Stuart
That’s the confusing part – this is their “Labor Day Savings” sales flyer. Part 1 maybe, with Part 2 to be disclosed on 9/2?

Hm… Not really excited about any of it… I may have an anemic shopping season this year

Got an email from ToolUp – nothing great but:
10% off using code “ANYDEAL”
https://www.toolup.com/
Tiger Supplies – offering 5% off – with code LABORDAY
https://www.tigersupplies.com/
Matthew
Anydeal offering on anything that is full price. When you browse the site pretty much everything is marked down even if it’s more than most other sites. Sad sale.
fred
10% is not much – but it seems to apply to the marked-down items that I tested by adding to my cart. It did not apply to some Milwaukee items that are supposedly on special sale. ToolUp seems to show their regular prices – proclaiming some % off MSRP – a bit like some regular prices on Amazon that also say “save xx%”
Steve
Ho-hum. Nothing that really catches my eye. Everything is a notch above Black Friday pricing, which is typical for Labor Day sales. Same thing @ Depot. I’ll wait, the best deal season is just around the corner.
Serendipity
I always look for good sales but they have not been good this year on anything
Iwant. I wish they would have tool sales on the less common tools.
mattd
isn’t that dewalt drill bit set usually on sale for $10
Aaron s
Kits similar to that hit 15 but I think the kits that get down to 10 are lesser. The mini organizer inside the toughcase+ is typically only in the $15 and up kits unless there is a pricing mistake.
Gordon
The 14 piece is the one that normally hits $10. But this year it has been more like $14.
HD had the 14 piece on clearance for $8 a few months ago.
Stuart
I thought so too for a moment, but it’s the 14pc set that’s usually on sale for $10.

Today’s emails brought this:

Highland Woodworking – free shipping on orders over $75
https://www.highlandwoodworking.com/
Zoro – 25% off on compressors/pneumatic tools – use code SAVE25OFF

ToolsToday – 10% off – use code LABOR21

Obviously this is for Lowe’s, but do you reckon string trimmers are on the menu for a typical Labor Day sale? Like, say, Makita at Home depot?
Big Richard
As you mentioned that they didn’t have any DeWalt 12v tool deals, they do still have the deal where you buy the DCK221F2 drill/impact kit for $199 you get a free tool.

@Stuart and Co. Cant believe you guys aren’t talking about the SawStop 10% price increase overnight!
Stuart
I (still) can’t find any official announcement or even community discussion about this! I was told to look at Facebook but didn’t see anything there. But, yep, it looks like some of the prices are up ~10%.
A LOT of tools, supplies, and equipment have been increasing in price, both imported and domestic. It’s frustrating, and most have been happening without any warning at all.
The first tip about this came in yesterday and there wasn’t sufficient time to verify anything. With a week or so notice I could have verified the increase and posted about it to help readers. Hearing a single rumor that I could not verify, and just hours before the increase was set to go into effect, what was I supposed to do?

I’m so thankful some of our locally owned tool vendors actually have meaningful “specials”.
Typically with a two week window to call to hold and/or to stop by. (And usually find far more to ogle)…
This way the big boxes are just for evening or spur of the moment needs/national online deals. Phew.

Lansky sharpeners are 25% off through Labor Day. Saw it on Facebook.

The Bosch buy a tool and get a charger and battery has been on going for months now. I have taken advantage of it a few times.
Joe
New Craftsman V-Series tools with pictures on Lowe’s website. Just search “Craftsman” and filter by New Arrivals.
Stuart
Thanks!
Hmm, looks like a Facom handle.

Nothing came up for me.

The best specials Lowe’s is offering aren’t on the ad. Best I could find was $149 for four DeWalt 20v batteries (two 4 aH and two 2 aH), and free bare tool when you buy a brushless drill/impact kit. The deal on the batteries kept saying it is was out of stock online, but they honored it in the store
