9-feet of blade standout doesn’t seem like much these days, but it’s still more than what you get with some of the most popular tape measures on the market. The standard Stanley PowerLock, which we reviewed way back in 2008, has a 7-foot standout. Stanley’s new FatMax with magnetic hook tape measure has an 11-foot standout.
The new case designs are interesting, with our attention fixed on the overmolded grip and a blade lock toggle that is a bit higher than we usually prefer. They look promising.
