Makita Mini Cordless Circular Saw SH01W

Makita recently announced a new addition to their 12V max lithium ion cordless tool lineup, a 3-3/8″ compact circular saw. The saw (SH01W) features a 1400RPM Makita-built motor, 3-3/8″ blade with adjustable cutting depth, 1″ at 90° and 5/8″ at 45° cutting capacity, and a tilting base for bevel cuts.

The new saw has a compact design and is relatively lightweight at 3.3lbs. A dust blower is built in to keep the cut line free of dust and debris. A 20T carbide tipped blade with 15mm arbor is included with the saw.

Makita is no stranger to circular saws of this size, but it is their first 12V max li-ion cordless version. It looks to be quite a bit more compact than Craftsman’s Nextec trim saw of the same blade size, and is perfectly sized for quick cutting operations.

The saw is available in a 2-tool combo kit (LCT208W) with a 3/8″ drill/driver (FD02W), two 12V max lithium ion batteries, a charger and kit bag.

Taking a quick look at Amazon, replacement saw blades are easy to find. We found compatible general purpose and plywood blades by Oshlun, Makita, Shark, Porter Cable and Oldham.
