Makita issued a teaser that highlighted some of their upcoming Li-ion cordless power tools and products, including a higher capacity 18V LXT 4.0Ah battery pack that we discussed earlier.
Brushless 1/2″ Hammer Drill Driver XPH07
Makita says that this new model will break new ground in the 1/2″ hammer driver-drill category and that it will lead the industry in torque, speed, runtime, and have the fastest battery charge time.
ETA: Summer 2014
Brushless 1/2″ Drill Driver XFD07
This drill will be similar to the XPH07, but without a hammer mode.
Compact Portable Band Saw XBP01
Makita says that the new band saw weighs 25% less than competing models. It will have a 2-1/2″ cutting capacity.
ETA: Spring 2014
Compact Reciprocating Saw Kit XRJ01
The new saw will feature a variable speed trigger, 1/2″ stroke length, tool-free blade holder, and dual-position on/off switch that allows for paddle or trigger switch operation.
ETA: Spring 2014
Brushless 1/2″ Hammer Drill Driver XPH06
This hammer drill was designed around the knowledge that most hammer drills are used to drill 1/8″ to 1/4″ holes, which Makita says gives it unmatched power-to-weight ratio and longer runtime compared to competing models.
ETA: Winter 2014 for the kit and bare tool (XPH06Z)
Available now: XT248 kit, which includes XPH06Z hammer drill and XDT08Z impact driver.
18V X2 LXT
7-1/4″ Circular Saw XSH01Z
(2) 18V LXT batteries give the new 36V-equivalent saw greater power and runtime compared to common 18V models.
ETA: Winter 2014
Makita says that more tools are on the way, and provided details for one of them.
3/8″ Right Angle Drill Kit AD02W
A compact solution for drilling and driving in tight spaces. Only 3-1/2″ head length, keyless chuck, paddle switch, LED lights, light weight. Makita says this is the most compact [right angle drill] in the category.
ETA: December 2013
