If I hadn’t jumped on the XGT plunge-cutting track saw kit the other day when Acme had a 10% promo, I’d definitely order it now.
Coupon Code: CYBERMAKITA
As I know some of you have been looking for it, no, the new Makita StarLock oscillating multi-tool is NOT eligible for this coupon offer. As of the time of this posting, the best pricing on that tool is $193 at Amazon (via CPO as the seller). Most online retailers, including Acme Tools and CPO directly, have it promo-priced at $199 for the holiday season.

Ha! That makes 2 of us that used the Acme promo for the 40v track saw. Do you have any insight on shipping estimate other than the 3-5 weeks Acme has on their website? Looking forward it it complementing the 40v 10″ miter saw I recently received.
Stuart
I honestly don’t expect to see it ship before January. If it does, I’ll be surprised.
Billy
That mirrors my expectation. Fortunately, I don’t have any immediate projects in mind for it and I have the corded model. I mainly purchased to get the additional battery and because I had been eyeing the 36v for a while now. I tend to break sheet goods down on the driveway where I don’t need dust collection so the cordless will be nice for that. The additional anti kick back safety feature will also give me some piece of mind against injury or ruining my expensive tracks as I’ve almost done with the corded model.

I just went to buy a 118″ Makita track. $209, $15 off, $194 with free shipping. That’s a steal.
Until you see the $249 HANDLING charge. Shipping in disguise. This kind fo thing has scuttled every purchase I’ve tried to make with ACME. Unless I live within driving distance, ACME isn’t a viable vendor.
Stuart
That’s unfortunate, but they do the same for other brands’ longer tracks as well.
When I received a long Dewalt track, it was only able to be shipped via 18-wheeler and I had to meet the truck in a non-residential area.
If the track ships from Acme, compared to drop-shipped from a retailer, that could explain the added fee. Other retailers might offer it at full price but with free freight.

Years ago (2018) toolmarts.com had a free shipping deal on the 118 Makita track. Ended up being 189.99 total, delivered. That was a STEAL and I doubt it’ll ever happened again. I love the 118 track as I never have to lift full sheets of ply onto the table saw.
Thing must have been a nightmare to ship. I’m not surprised by the 200 ‘handling’ fee. I’ve also heard that they get damaged in shipping often, so I bet there’s some of that cost built in there too.
Jason
I get it, those tracks a pain to ship. I just don’t like them hiding the shipping behind “free freight” and adding it as handling. It just feels disingenuous.
Billy
Check Toolnut for the track. I bought my 118″ from them a couple of years ago and it drop shipped straight from Makita with no additional shipping charge. Might have changed since, but was a nice ordering experience when I kept running into the same issue.

$250 AT Tool Orbit – with shipping included

My experience (some years ago now) in buying long Festool guide rails – was that they were either shipped in a custom made wooden crate via a freight service – or they came warped/bent ready for return to the sender

Makita 194367-7 118″ track is $225 at Toolnut.
This qualifies for $25 off Makita orders over $100
$30 shipping on UPS, ships directly from manufacturer.
Net is $230. Best price I’ve seen on this track delivered.
Saulac
I ordered one. Thank.

$&@#%^ I wanted to get the new multi-tool…
C Mango
Oops! I just ordered 3 tools from Amazon. It was the $25 off deal though, so I think only one of the tools I ordered would have been lower by $5 anyway.
fred
I see that Acme is doing the same sort of deal today only (12/2) – but now for Milwaukee items – The promo code is now REDCYBER

I don’t see any fantastic deals. Acme tools shows list price and the “discount “ price.
As if you’re getting a great deal. Only one person is getting a great deal here.
