Entrepreneur Magazine recently placed Matco and Snap-on high in their 2011 Franchise 500 Rankings. Matco earned itself the #19 spot, with Snap-on not too far away at position #25.

According to a recent Matco press release, franchisors are judged by an independent auditor according to a set of objective criteria such as financial strength and stability, growth rate, system size, number of years the company has been in business, duration of the franchise program, startup costs, litigation, percentage of terminations, and whether the company provides financing.

Full rankings are available here, via Entrepreneur Magazine

In case you’re wondering, Ace Hardware was ranked at # 31 and Sears was very distant at #376.
