Over at Amazon, they have the Metabo HPT (formerly Hitachi) C10FCGS 10″ single bevel miter saw on sale for $99 and with free shipping.
This 10″ miter saw is a basic no-frills model that typically goes on sale for the holiday shipping season at similar pricing.

Update: The deal has returned for the Black Friday 2021 and holiday shopping season.
Here’s are the specs:
- 10″ blade size
- 15A motor
- 5000 RPM
- Max cutting capacity: 2-5/16″ height x 5-21/32″, or 3-1/2″ x 3-31/21″ at 90°
- 0-52° miter range right and left
- 0-45° miter range left
- Weighs 24.2 lbs
- Includes hold-down clamp, 24T blade, dust bag
Reviews are typically quite good for this model, and the same was true about the previous Hitachi/HPT budget 10″ miter saw design that came before it.
If you don’t need the greater cutting capacity of a sliding miter saw, you might like the size and lower weight of this one. There’s no laser, LED shadow cut-line guidance system, fancy features, or bundled inclusions aside from a dust bag and hold-down clamp.
Price: $99

I have this one (paid $99 at Lowes) and love it. It is my “throw in the back of the truck and go” miter saw.
Used it this weekend. I should replace the default blade which is just ok, but it is working fine for now.

this is all the saw that most people need.
i wonder how many whiz bang saws are out there that cost 10x more and are rarely used for cuts that this saw couldn’t do.
i have a low budget 12 inch dewalt and the only reason for that is the ability to cut 4×6 material and even that is rare.

Yep. Agreed. Use per $ spent- one of the best. My 15 year old son who has been working for/with me since the pandemic, Loves this saw. Gets a bit nervous with the 12in dewalt slider, but handles this one no problem. Best thing about it is the size and weight . He can carry it around easily and safely.
Clay
Agree. I end up using this one more than my DWS779 because it is so easy and I can just take it outside and use it, as opposed to having to set up the stand on the Dewalt and pull it out to have clearance, etc.
The DWS779 is a great saw, but definitely more than I need most of the time.

Picked up one of these for $99 at Lowe’s a few years back. It’s a great little saw for chopping things.

You did not see a bundle of “Team Green” (Hitachi) tools on the jobsites – compared to Team Yellow, Team Red or Team Teal. But this chop saw, Hitachi pneumatics and Metabo grinders showed up in numbers – saying that they could indeed make some really good tools.

Got thos for $89 at lowes last spring,a better blade make it great for the trim work I ned to do around the house. Mine measured pretty accurate out of the box.

A miter saw has been at the top of my list for a while now. This saw has been highly reviewed for a while and priced higher for a bit- just pulled the trigger (and picked up the small Dewalt case you mentioned last week). Thanks!

I decided to buy this saw on Amazon and found a “Get 10% back on amount charged to an Amazon Prime credit card” deal. Since I have that card, I figure the final price is $80.10.
BTW, whats the difference between this deal Model C10FCGS and the C10FCG listed for $170. Looking at the descriptions, they appear the same. The only differences I could find were the C10FCGS is slightly heavier (0.3 lbs) and 2 years newer (3/2019 vs 6/2017).
That 10% deal also includes a few Streamlight flashlights, Makita and Bosch cordless tools.
Stuart
C10FCG looks to only be sold by 3rd party brands. As far as I can tell, they’re the same. Maybe retail vs. online ordering packaging differences?
I see that promo too – https://www.amazon.com/l/17985366011?offerId=pcb-5KMAOPYRBM&tag=toolguyd-20

It seems to have a solid recommendation, but I haven’t tested it out yet.
What about a 12″ non-slider? There’s a Dewalt that has been $199 on sale for Black Friday before, and a dual-bevel model for $249.
Unfortunately, most of the deals aren’t disclosed early.
