Home Depot Labor Day Savings Tool Deals 2020

You know the Labor Day Savings Event that we partnered with Home Depot to share about? I have been shopping the sale, and came across another deal that I just cannot say no to.

Right now, they have Milwaukee Tool 15pc wrench sets on sale for $99 each.

In my opinion, that’s a great price, seeing as how these wrench sets typically sell for $129. With this deals, you save $30 (a little over 23%) on great quality combination wrenches.

But, that’s not all – they’re also throwing in a free 4pc pick set, which typically sells for $17.

So, you get a $129 15pc wrench set and a $17 4pc pick set for $99 out the door. AND with free shipping.

I don’t need new combination wrenches, especially since I still have a set of these that Milwaukee Tool provided for review when they launched (which is also how I know they’re great wrenches).

I can’t pass up this deal!

I’m sure that some of YOU could use a new set of wrenches, right? So, I want to buy one lucky reader a brand new 15pc wrench set in their choice of SAE or metric flavors.

Milwaukee Wrench Set SAE with Picks

The 15pc SAE wrench set comes with 1/4″ thru 1″ wrenches, and does not look to miss any sizes. The storage rack is also convenient and sturdy.

Milwaukee Wrench Set Metric with Picks

The 15pc metric wrench set comes with 8mm thru 22mm sizes, and in 1mm increments with no skipped sizes.

Transparency Note

This post and our also-live Milwaukee M12 giveaway aren’t explicitly included in our paid partnership with Home Depot, but since more posts that mention their Labor Day event – even if unsponsored and purely editorial – align with the spirit of the arrangement, it’s best if you consider everything as intertwined until the partnership ends after Labor Day.

I appreciate all of you for continuing to read and support ToolGuyd. Hopefully this giveaway is a good way for me and ToolGuyd to give back to you. If not, I’m open to ideas. This seemed like a win-win-win idea.

I’ll scour through the deals again before they end. If you take a look and see a HOT deal that draws your attention and warrants a deal post, please let me know!

Our current sponsorship with Home Depot helped make this possible. Thank you to Home Depot, and for the gift card that will pay for this giveaway prize!

Update 1pm: The giveaway is only open to entrants in the contiguous USA. If any Canadians entered the giveaway prior to this update, we’ll make something work if you win.

Winner!

These wrenches would be a great upgrade for me. I’m still working with old discount store wrenches that I’ve cobbled together into a collection from various sources. Every now and again I break one and can see how cheap the metal that they used is. Would be nice to have something that’s a bit more robust for working on cars.

Could use a set of SAE. Never had an SAE set as almost all of the stuff at work is metric, and for that I picked up a Wera Joker set at a steal price of $110 a few years back. The work-issue stuff is decent but sometimes actually costs time for lack of function. If I do run into SAE been lucky that the Knipex can still bust them loose and use nearest metric ratcheting to move things along.

Either wrench set would be a great upgrade from the current Husky wrenches that I bought after losing my trusty old, clunky, and uncomfortable USA Craftsman wrenches in a fire. Currently in the process of rebuilding my shop with a metal building, so I could see the SAE set would be useful there. Since I do most all of my own mechanic work, the metric set might be of more use though. Decisions, decisions. I have seen them in store at Home Depot and I must say they do have a nice polished finish on them.

of all my tools, I have never properly invested in a proper wrench set. I have picked up a few here or there for small jobs and somehow have amassed a mess of a tool drawer with multiple duplicates and missing sizes. This set would help me get rid of some of that mess and streamline things a bit which would be great, the storage rack they come in is icing on the cake.

If i win they would be used for wrenching away on my project car: 1993 mitsubishi 3000gt.

I would love to win these wrenches (the SAE set) because 1) I’ve looked at these several times in the HD and they are fantastic wrenches! 2) Because I already have a great set of GearWrench spanners in SAE and metric, BUT my Dad has been using a set of cheap house brand wrenches from Autozone or somewhere similar. Not only were they made out of cheap chinese steel from the Cretaceous period (back when chinese steel was REALLY cheap), the set is missing several sizes and the plastic vinyl case is so brittle it turns to dust at the slightest touch. I would absolutely love to be able to gift this set to him- bonus: Yesterday (September 3rd) was his birthday too.

These wrenches would be a ToolGuyd wonder for me. My existing set of wrenches is various second or third tier brands that I have been given decades ago from my father in law, an uncle in law and my step father in law (a Husky set of metrics that are ok). My choice would be for the SAE given the Husky set is probably less than 7 years old.
As for use, as I indicated in the M12 giveaway my wife and I will be moving into a new home in the next 60 to 90 days and I can see these wrenches and picks being used for all the little things I expect to find that need fixing, replacement or just tightened. I know that I will be using the wrenches and picks for my re-do of the garage with a new bench with vise and grinder (renovating the existing bench with new wood and sealer along with back bracing plus the new shelving, cycles and other items storage set ups I have in mind.

I want to go all Metric, but living in the Rust belt, everything I find locally still is in SAE – so those would be more useful to me. My current go-to wrenches are an ancient set of Craftsmen wrenches that were one of the first tools I bought. They have been “good enough” for a long time and see frequent use on my vehicles or tightening up tools and jigs around the shop. I have upgraded my screwdrivers (thanks to your recommendations on quite a few of them) and power tools, but for some reason never got around to upgrading the wrenches.

The 90 degree pick is by far the most useful instrument in my toolbox. Recently a storm took down a tree that fell on power lines and took most of my appliances out. 90 degree is essential when you want to pry those stubborn wire connectors out of motherboards. You just need to careful and make sure that those connectors are straight in line.

My “starter” tool kit that I have been using for years is alarmingly lacking on actual wrenches. The lack of a full set nearly caused me to round off a nut with an adjustable wrench earlier this year.

I would use these wrenches to continue building my “big boy” tool box. I am a weekend warrior that works on race cars that I drive at famous race tracks like Sebring International Raceway and Daytona International Speedway. These giveaway wrenches would allow me to more capably tackle projects on the cars and around the house while saving me 100 smackaroos that I could put towards the next track event!

Now because I have old craftsman and the new ones aren’t up to snuff I want to invest in Milwaukee’s combination wrenches. I was reminded just last night how important it is to have such tools on hand for situations that arise unforeseen. Every Milwaukee tool I own is by far the best such tool I’ve ever used, and I have no doubt that is the case with their combination wrench set and their pick set. SAE or metric would be great, as far as I am concerned, but the small set of Craftsman combo wrenches I currently own is SAE, so I suppose the metric is likely to fill a void in my collection.

IF I get well enough from it all, I am supposed to be in line to teach some at-risk teens how to use tools for basic stuff, so they can find their way around a construction site. Even if that never happens, I STILL WANT these wrenches, because I had to do so much improvisation last night just putting a new battery cable clamp on my truck. I am in the process of putting together a “do it all” tool set, and this (MM) wrench set would be a nice/major addition. I found it distracting and not efficient to use different tool set for different jobs. I like to work just a few good tools that I am very familiar with. So I want to have a singe set of (hand) tools that I can carry around. Work on the car in the garage, mower in the backyard, stuffs around the house, and take with me on long trip. 8mm-22mm in every size (not skip) is an important feature, or a requirement. It provide the reassurance that I’ll get the job done, instead of I have 80-90 % chance of getting the job done.

I would love to win a set of wrenches. Currently the only wrenches I have are various sizes passed down from my Dad. I’ve got quite a few missing sizes. I never felt it was right to buy a new set to replace my Dads’ and I’ve never had the time to really go through them and figure out what I would need to get to fill in the gaps. Whenever I don’t have a size I generally grab the adjustable wrench.
Winning a complete set would let me put my Dad’s old wrenches in a safe spot to hand down to my two boys.

They would look great in my new toolbox and I’d put them to use mostly for working on my truck

I would like to get new Milwaukee wrenches for my DIY projects.
I prefer metric as it’s more useful.

I would use these wrenches to give myself a real SAE set and get rid of some broken husky ratchet wrenches. And you can always use picks!

Give it to one of my offspring, since they finally understand why Dad needed tools! Metric most likely, since that is more universal. Won’t even start on why we are stuck with non-metric to this day.

I’m starting a new small business and these would be perfect for maintaining equipment.

Stuart, there’s no getting around it. You have to give a set to each of us; we all follow your site and appreciate your reviews and other helpful tips and tidbits, and we all have good reasons to have a great set of Milwaukee wrenches to use so we can show them off and talk them up to our co-workers, friends, family, and even a few neighbors (who will never be allowed to borrow them without a hefty security deposit!).

Oh, and please discontinue sending me the follow-up comments in this thread, please? It’s really blowing up my inbox!

        I wish I could!

You should be able to unsubscribe from comment follow-up subscriptions – isn’t there a button at the bottom of the email somewhere?

(Just image what giveaways do to my inbox!!)

Thank you, Stuart. You don’t have to; just tell Milwaukee what I just posted! Cheap advertising for them, if you ask me, and how could any be more effective?

I changed a setting. Time will tell. I don’t want to unsubscribe altogether, so I will wait until I see the results of small tweaks.

Peace and blessings to you and yours.

I could use a a full set of metric wrenches rather than the pieced together bits I have. Never seem to have the right size now!

I need more wrenches because my kids have “borrowed” most of mine already.

I only have maybe one or two metric wrenches and keep running into a need for a size I don’t have. Like most I say, “I’m so sick of this, I’m buying a set!” and then don’t do it either because of funds or forgetting. (I also think, “Why can’t we just pick SAE or Metric and just only have that!)

I recently bought both the SAE and metric Milwaukee wrench sets and I’m pretty happy with them. For the price, it’s hard to beat this set, especially with no skips. I’d rather buy most of what I need in one set than piece it together.
