Milwaukee’s newish tri-lobe-handled screwdriver set is usually a good buy, where you can get a 6pc set for $20.
This 8pc set is a seasonal “special buy,” for $20.*

* You can read more about these screwdrivers here, in Ben’s roundup. There, he says:
You can find the 6 piece and sometimes 8 piece with square driver sets on the shelves at Home Depot for $20 and $22 respectively. Unless a local supplier carries them locally, you’ll probably have to go online to find the 8 piece with ECX or the 10 piece sets, which run $25 and $30 respectively.
So, my first thought was “cool, you’re saving $5 on this set compared to the regular price.” But if its regular price was $22, then that’s not much savings.
Well, either way, $20 for 8 screwdriver sizes is a great buy. I’ve been using some of these Milwaukee tri-lobe-handled screwdrivers, and they’re pretty good. Having the sizes marked on the ends are convenient, and the handles are comfortable to me.
I think it’s a good deal, but how good? I don’t know. Good enough of a bargain to want to share and put it on your radar, I guess. Check it out if you’re in the market for a common-sizes screwdriver set on a $20 budget.
Price: $20

Hate this style of handle. I only buy see through acetate handles. That way i can see clearly how well the shaft is set into the handle. I look for full or at least half way up the handle. That tells me i am getting a good solid screwdriver that i can use to pry on if need be
Joe
For me, I’d rather use a prybar if needed ad focus on the handle feel and most importantly, the tip design.aka wera, interesting though.

Tri-lobe? WTF is a tri-lobe screwdriver?
Oh, the handle! Uh, nope, it may be comfortable when you have the right grip, but “finding” that grip slows me down, takes my focus off the job I’m trying to complete.
Stuart
Sorry, tri-lobe-handled.
Trilobular-handled?

I assumed you were talking about the handle style – not the tip.
But their are Tri-wing (aka tri-blade) and triangular recess drives – and you can buy pentalobe screwdrivers from Wiha and Engineer.

These are nice, and they are well made. I’m slowly replacing hand tools with the great stuff Milwaukee is putting out. Problem is, I just don’t need 3 sizes of Phillips and Flat blade….a big and a small are fine…I’d rather see the money go into higher quality. They make a killer “demolition” flat blade that I bought for prying…it is hell for stout.

Husky has a larger set that cost less for the holidays.
Same style

I developed something of a screwdriver acquisition habbit when I became an electrician. I like these. Comfortable to use. Seem to hold up well. They would serve most people just fine.

Look similar to the new SBD Craftsman set. Would not be surprised if they came from the same Chinese factory. Likely same rudimentary quality. Time to expand the tariffs.

Agreed . Keep Chinese junk in China. So tired of buying garbage. Most off shore products are instant land fill. Should be huge enviromental deposits on every single Chinese item. The cost of disposal is many times the cost of the product. Plastic does not decay
Stuart
Comments like these are unproductive and do nothing but stir the pot.
Not everyone has the desire – or more importantly the budget – for high-quality USA-made screwdrivers.
And plastic does decay, it just takes a very long time, depending on the type.

I prefer the prior generation screwdrivers, was disappointed when I got these. Not sure if the new cushion grip ones are like the prior generation. The older ones were great, dont know why there was much to change.

I saw these at depot and passed, they felt really cheaply made , the Husky set feels better inmo and is 5 bucks cheaper. Husky Set is made in Taiwan.

Looked at these in store. Passed. They don’t look anything special and are not that ergnomic. I have some screw drivers with a bigger and more pronounced handle design that are more comfortable.
