Milwaukee FastBack and Magnetic Tape Measure Display Home Depot Holiday 2015

For the past few years, Home Depot’s Milwaukee hand tool deals have been very good around the holidays. In my opinion, this year is no different.

I typically take advantage of at least one of Home Depot’s Milwaukee hand tool deals every holiday season, usually much more. In past years, I bought multi-bit screwdrivers, utility knives, tape measures, and screwdriver sets.

These are pretty much the only hand tool deals Milwaukee has had every year – multi-bit screwdrivers, Fastback utility knives, and tape measures, and in some years the bonus sets have included free bottle openers.

There’s hardly ever a year when I don’t have a car tool kit, portable tool kit, or other mini tool set that isn’t in need of an everyday tool replacement.

This year, I’ll probably buy the screwdriver bundle, and maybe one of the tape measure bundles. No matter how many tape measures I have, there are times I can’t find one – does this happen to you? And then when I don’t need one, there are 4 or more within eyeshot.

Milwaukee Fastback Utility Knife 2-Pack

Milwaukee FastBack Utility Knife 2-Pack Home Depot Holiday 2015

Before we talk about this deal, have you read up on Milwaukee’s upcoming Fastback III and folding pocket knives? The Fastback III will have more internal spare blade storage than the Fastback II. And while Milwaukee already has Fastback folding knives, they’re prepping a line of higher quality EDC pocket knives.

Milwaukee’s Fastback folding utility knives are quite popular, and for good reason – they’re great to use. They’re compact and lightweight, with the tradeoff of the folding design being the lack of cutting depth adjustment. There’s also of course the way these utility knives flip open quickly.

The Milwaukee Fastback utility knife is usually priced at $10 each, and with this set you get 2 for around $15.

The Fastback doesn’t have internal blade storage, but this also means it is slightly more compact and lightweight than the Fastback II, not to mention less expensive.

Price: $14.88 for a 2-pack

Milwaukee 25-Foot Tape Measure Bonus Pack

Milwaukee Free Magnetic Tape Measure Bundle Home Depot Holiday 2015

I LOVE Milwaukee’s magnetic tape measures, here’s a review comparison of a Milwaukee 25-foot tape vs. Dewalt’s leading model.

With this bundle, you pay for a 25′ magnetic tape measure, and get a 25′ contractor tape measure for free. Here’s the deal discussion from earlier last month.

Milwaukee contractor tape measures are a little different than the magnetic tapes, with both benefits and tradeoffs. They’re less expensive, but I wouldn’t consider them to be bargain or budget tape measures.

Overall, I think this is a good deal – if you could use the two 25′ tapes.

Milwaukee Ratcheting Screwdriver Plus Compact Screwdriver Bundle

Milwaukee Ratcheting and Compact Screwdriver Bundle Home Depot Holiday 2015

This year’s screwdriver promo pack bundles a Milwaukee ratcheting screwdriver with a compact multi-bit screwdriver.

Milwaukee Screwdriver Set Home Depot Holiday 2015

I reviewed the Milwaukee stubby multi-bit screwdriver nearly a year ago, and still use it regularly (as often as I can find it). I believe that the full-size ratcheting screwdriver has a similar ratcheting mechanism.

The mini screwdriver included in this bundle doesn’t ratchet, but the ratcheting screwdriver is $17 by itself. With this set, you get a full-size ratcheting driver, and the 8-in-1 stubby driver, for $20.

Milwaukee Magnetic Tape Measure Price Drop

Milwaukee Magnetic Tape Measure Bundles Home Depot Holiday 2015

Elsewhere in my local Home Depot I spotted new lower prices on Milwaukee’s magnetic tape measures: $20 for the 25-footer, and $15 for the 16-footer. It doesn’t look like these prices are available online, and the online listing for the 25-footer isn’t even up anymore.

Milwaukee Magnetic Tape Measure 16-foot 2-Pack Set

There’s also a 2-pack of Milwaukee 16-foot magnetic tape measures, online-only from what I can tell.

Price: $20

Love, love , love Fastback knives.

    Tape Measures are excellent also.

Not impressed with the Milwaukee Ratcheting Screwdriver, suggest steering clear of that one. SZ.

I miss last year’s screwdriver and bottle opener combo. But I may pick up another magnetic tape, I love the one I already have, and I subscribe to the theory of the more tape measures around the better.

I have the ratcheting screwdriver and it works fine, no slippage for me. I’m a little disappointed that this year’s bargain doesn’t include the mini-ratcheter thought that would have driven up the price. I need to try the Fastback knives, have never heard anything bad about them. The tape measures, while good, aren’t always the easiest for non-contractors to use (most of the stuff I play with is 8ft or less, 25ft tape for me is overkill).

I own the 25ft tape measure, and both the regular and mini ratcheting screwdriver. I’m very happy with all of them and would recommend them.

Always wanted to try the FastBack knives but during organizing my new 41″ Husky toolbox I realized I have 10 utility knives already. Now that they are all in the same place it looks like its an addiction that I do not need to feed, so no FastBack knives until I manage to “lose” a few of the standard utility knives I already have.

BTW, I picked up a couple 25′ Magnetic/generic utility knife combos last year. I think they were leftover from Black Friday and the price was dropped down to $8.00!

So keep your eye out for the prices to drop if they have lots leftover.

These don’t seem like deals: $20 for a multi-bit screwdriver? $20 for a tape measure? They may be discounted, but they certainly don’t seem like good holiday deals. I guess two utility knives for $15 is pretty good, though.

I would wait to see if Ace does their insanely cheap Stanley sale again. but basically all of the following were $3 last year: 6-piece screwdriver set, 25′ tape, three (3) piece chisel set, 10″ (?) pry bar, and a 12″ bag. The utility knife doesn’t fold, and I’d definitely prefer the Milwaukee over it, but the tape is fine, not to mention $1/piece chisels…I bought 3 packs.

Have the milwaukee fastback utility knife. Don’t like it very much. Blade is a little loose in it holder. I’d skip this one.
