Update: Coupon code 10APRIL is good for $10 off $100+ orders at HomeDepot.com, today through 4/28/13.
If you’ve been waiting to buy one of the new M12 Fuel brushless drill or driver kits, now looks to be a good time.
Unfortunately, the promo kit that includes the M12 Fuel brushless impact driver we reviewed yesterday seems to be one of the 3 that sold out already. Still, check out the review to read about why we like the new M12 Fuel tool designs so much.
There’s no word as to when this promo will end, but we’re thinking it will be when supplies runs out.

M12 fuel hammerdrill kit is sold out 🙁

This should be valid in-store as well. I was at my local HD yesterday morning and picked up the M12 Fuel Impact Driver and extra battery. There was a small banner display above the normal M12 endcap in the tool area and another vertical sign in the aisle on one of the shelf support columns next to the drills/drivers.

If you lost the deal on HomeDepot or the item your are looking is out of stock there, I ordered a M12 Fuel Hammer/Drill KIT with a Free Battery from here: http://stores.ebay.com/New-York-Power-Tools-Inc?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

Note: I updated the post with a new $10 off $100 coupon code that’s valid 4/22 thru 4/28/13.

The big question I have is which to buy?
M12 for $99
M12 fuel for $169 (with $10 off coupon)
Is the new one worth a $70 premium?
I only do odd jobs around the house right very occasionally right now, but can see myself using it a lot in years to come when I move house and start working on jeeps again.
Stuart
Part of the reason for the lower price of the M12 models is because many have been on the market for a while. I believe that Milwaukee packed several years worth of advancements into their Fuel drills and drivers.
It’s a tough decision. $70 is the difference between a 1-tool kit and a 2-tool kit.
If you have the budget, I would say go for the Fuel without hesitation. If you have a stricter budget and won’t be using the tool frequently, either wait ~6 weeks for potential Father’s Day sales, save up for Fuel, or buy M12 non-brushless now and enjoy it.

Thank you for the heads up! I own the 12volt one handed bandsaw, and it has been great. I wanted to get the new 4.0 batteries for it, so I choose the 12volt fuel drill/driver with 2 4.0 batteries, a 2.0 battery, charger and case. A deal and a half I think. Thank you again.
Stuart
I’m glad you found the deal mention helpful! That does sound like a pretty good deal.

I really wanted some 4.0ah batteries but they were never included in most kits till now. I bought the bare tool when the m12 fuel line was first released they didn’t have this deal back then, but once you throw in the 2 4.0 ah and the 1 2.0 your getting a much better deal long term over the bare tool. I’m somewhat tempted to sell my M18 fuel tools I grab the 12 volt’s most of the time, but I do love he 18v power when I need it.

At my local tool retailer, if you buy one pack of five sawzall blades you can send for a free Milwaukee sawzall t-shirt. But if you buy five packs of five you get a free Milwaukee hoodie. Offer good through 6-31-13.

The Fuel drills are an awesome deal with the pair of 4.0ah packs. $160 worth of the XC batteries alone in a <$200 kit, plus the $50 compact battery. I just picked up the drill/driver from CPO and the Fuel impact from HD, Home Depot is definitely doing at least the free 2.0ah battery with kits, I didn't notice anything about the XCs. I just wish they packaged the Fuel impacts with an XC battery like the drill.
