With this new deal, here is what’s special about it:
1. You get a fantastic brushless motor impact driver.
2. You get premium compact 3.0Ah High Output batteries.
3. You get a Packout tool box.
4. The price is lower than for other M18 Fuel 2853 impact driver kits.

You get higher capacity batteries compared to the 2.0Ah batteries that are included in the $229 kit, and just like the XC batteries that are bundled in the $299 kit, they can be used in heavier duty tools.
Just the Batteries: $129 via Tool Nut
There’s a small downside – compact High Output batteries are a little larger and heavier than compact batteries, but they’re lighter and shorter than XC batteries. Milwaukee compact High Output batteries are said to provide XC-level performance.

Got that? The batteries deliver more power and runtime compared to the ones in the $229 kit.
And, you get the modular Milwaukee Packout tool box instead of a simple blow molded case.

That tool box retails for $70 by itself.
There’s not much left to dissect. Basically, you get a step-up in batteries, an upgraded tool case, and on top of all that, the price is discounted.
Compared to the regular Milwaukee M18 Fuel 2853 cordless impact driver kits, this special buy gives you more and at a lower price.

At the time of this posting, International Tool has the best pricing, thanks to their active $20 off $100+ sale.
NOTE: It seems that you don’t get the typical customizable foam insert, but a pre-cut insert. Thanks to Moogleman for the update – head to the comments for more discussion about this.
But $199 is Too Much!
If your budget is only $99, consider the Milwaukee 2850-21P special buy, featuring the M18 compact brushless impact driver with charger, tool bag, and compact Li-ion battery.
Compared to the M18 Fuel kit above, the max torque is lower (1600 in-lbs), and you only get one speed/torque setting instead of 4.
This kit comes with a compact 2.0Ah battery.
This is a very good impact driver, and $99 is a great price for this 1-battery kit.
In case you need some impact-rated screwdriver bits to go along with either of these impact drivers:

That foam is a nice extra too no?
Stuart
Yes, but it’s included with this Packout. There are two Packout tool boxes of this size, one with corner protective brackets, one without and with foam insert.
I would assume the foam is pre-cut/configured for the impact driver kit, but haven’t seen it in person yet to confirm.

I posted this on your IG post, but I got this kit; it doesn’t come with kaizen foam; just standard black styrofoam. It has a space for the impact, charger, extra battery, and a rectangle opening in the middle for random storage.
Rockler has kaizen foam sheets on sale right now, and if you’re an email subscriber, you get free shipping. A sheet each of the 2 1/4″ and 1 1/8″ came to $47 shipped.
All that said, this is still an amazing deal. I grabbed the M18 2801 drill kit that comes with a battery, charger and bag for $99 from home depot too and when my kaizen foam arrives, I’ll put it in the packout with the impact. I sold the 2.0 battery that cam with the drill though, and bought a 2 pack of the high output 3.0s.

Rockler says that you het 10% off and free shipping ($39 or more) using Promo code V20722. I have not tried it so I’m not sure it works and on what.
MoogleMan3
The 10% wouldn’t apply since the kaizen foam is already on sale. 🙁
Stuart
Thanks for the update! I added a note in the post.
I suppose that if there’s a catch, that’s not the worst they could do. Plus, hard foam might be easier to cut/mold in quantities, compared to the soft foam that’s typically bundled with the case and intended to be removed and adjusted by hand.

Thanks Stuart – just combined with the international tool $20 off… Couldn’t pass up that deal.
Stuart
You’re welcome, and thanks for confirming it works with the coupon!
I wasn’t sure it would, since the $20 off $100 disappeared from the website and looks like it could be ending soon. That, and this is already promo-priced.
Here are details on that promo for anyone that didn’t see it yet: https://toolguyd.com/international-tool-milwaukee-20-off-100-coupon-112020/
I’m trying to check right now, but their website isn’t cooperating with me.
Update: it works! This bundle is $179 at checkout.
Scott
Yeah, I only see the Bosch $20 off $100, Milwaukee ad is just an ad. The website seems a little… dated, let’s say, but my order/PayPal went right through.
Stuart
It’s not shown , but is still shows up and works at checkout!
Website could be modernized but is functional so I don’t mind. My order isn’t showing up so I emailed to make sure it went through.

I wonder if they’ll put out a nice M18 Fuel Hammer Drill/Driver (surge?!) combo this year – might make me regret the snap decision on just the driver. I have the M12 Fuel drill which is great, but one of these days I’ll regret that it’s not a hammer.
Feel like I never see good deals on that combo (obviously not surge in prior years), I wonder…
Stuart
Not that I’ve seen – the deal I’ve seen so far is a “buy this get that (Surge) as a bare tool” type of promo.
The same with M18 Fuel hammer drill + impact driver combo kit – I didn’t see a discounted cordless + Packout bundle yet.
There’s still a lot of time to find out, but usually they’d be visible by now.

It can be worth browsing the E-Rebates site – found some smaller but worthwhile deals there even at NAPA of all places.
