A couple of readers have asked for news and details about Spring 2020 promos. Over at Home Depot, they’re running a new spring promo where you can save up to $100 on a bundle of Milwaukee M18 Fuel cordless outdoor power tools.
Buy 2 qualifying tools and save $50 at checkout.
Buy 3 qualifying tools and save $100 at checkout.
Here are the 6 M18 Fuel cordless tool kit and bare tool options:
- M18 Fuel Blower (2724-20) $159
- M18 Fuel Quick-Lok String Trimmer Kit (2825-21ST) $299
- M18 Fuel Quick-Lok String Trimmer Bare Tool (2825-20ST) $229
- M18 Quick-Lok Pole Saw Attachment (49-16-2720) $179
- M18 Fuel Hedge Trimmer Bare Tool (2726-20) $169
- M18 Fuel Chainsaw Bare Tool (2727-20) $299
If you recall, Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel Quik-Lok system is a modular cordless outdoor power tool interface, where you have one powered motor unit and different available attachments. Learn more about Milwaukee M18 Quik-Lok here.
Here are 2 popular combinations:
M18 Fuel Quik-Lok String Trimmer Kit + M18 Fuel Blower – you pay $408 after $50 savings.
M18 FUEL Quik-Lok String Trimmer Kit + M18 FUEL Chainsaw + Pole Saw Attachment – you pay $677 after $100 savings.
The M18 Fuel string trimmer kit seems like a good starting point for newcomers to Milwaukee’s M18 system or for existing users that don’t yet have any High Output or HD batteries. The 8Ah battery seems like a good fit for longer outdoor maintenance tasks and projects, and the kit also gives you the base unit for the Quik-Lok system.
Right now, only the Quik-Lok string trimmer and pole saw attachment are included in the promo, but there might be later-season promos on the other Quik-Lok system tools and accessories.
I’ve used Milwaukee’s standard non-Quik-Lok string trimmer, their M18 Fuel hedge trimmer, and M18 Fuel blower, and they’re impressively powerful. These tools are a little larger than lower-priced consumer cordless outdoor power tools, but far more capable (from what I’ve seen so far).
Valid thru 7/5/2020
With this post, I’m sharing information about this deal, which is valid through July 5th, 2020. Do with the information what you will.
I’ve actually known about this deal for some time, and have been weighing the pros and cons of a deal post discussion. There have been some requests for such posts, but there has also been push-back.
We’ve been yelled at for posting about everyday tool-related topics, for including “Buy Now” links in posts, for talking about our online orders, and for other reasons recently, facing claims that it’s not ethical given the COVID-19 pandemic and “shelter at home” orders that most of the country has been living under.
Please stop yelling at the messenger.
There currently aren’t any guidelines regarding online ordering of essential vs. non-essential items. If there were to be restrictions or recommendations to curb online ordering of non-essential items, stores have the ability to do that on their end, and I have not heard of any such restrictions yet.
I’ve seen longer shipping times, as priority is given to essential merchandise, and I trust that this will be the case at other online vendors besides just Amazon.
This seems like a good deal to me, but I won’t advise whether you should purchase anything right now, that’s up to you.
But, I will say this – please avoid stores if you can. I’ve heard of “Black Friday-sized crowds” at home centers, with news reports describing family outings and customers sitting on lawn furniture displays drinking coffee.
I hope you’re all well and safe.
Oh, and one more thing – please PLEASE take care, wear all recommended PPE, and follow all safety practices when using handheld, cordless outdoor power tools, or gas engine equipment.
