I have this model for a couple years and it works well. In fairness, my only comparison in this category was a corded HF OMT. This is one of the few M18 tools I’ve had that I didn’t feel needed to be fuel. I’m sure fuel adds some advantage, but this one works well enough it’s not on my upgrade list.

I traded this in for m12 fuel and it’s night and day. M12 is a joy to use, this thing is loud, lots of vibration and cuts slower than the m12 fuel.
I sold my basically new m18 oscillating tool, 1.5ah battery and some accessories for $50 on Craigslist. It took a few weeks of listing to sell.

How does this compare to the FMM 250Q ?
I figure they’re quite different, especially the obvious fact that this one is cordless, and they were released several years apart.
I ask because I had a 250Q, and somehow lost it (although I still hold out hope I lost it at a family or friend’s house and no has realized or noticed it yet).
Would this be a step up or down compared to that?
Also, I don’t have any Milwaukee cordless tools, just the 12V ratchet.

I no longer have my corded Fein, or my M18 test sample.
If you have an HD near you, you could always buy one, test to see if it suits your needs, and send it back if it doesn’t.

M18 (this model) – if you want a value-priced OMT for occasional use
Dewalt will almost definitely also have their $99 kit special buys this season as well.

I have the 12v version and my only negative feedback is a lack of power. Yes, I realize that it’s the 12v version. It tends to overheat pretty quickly, whereas my others haven’t. Just something you may look into prior to purchasing. I also have a Fein and love it. No issues.

I own two of these and two of the fuel version. The fuel version is far, far better, but if you need a cheap occasional use OMT this is a good deal.

I’ve put the equivalent of 300K miles on mine and it still works well.
I have the fuel now and use it for metal or harder materials with a carbide blade, and this one is in semi-retirement and only cuts wood.

I’m about 80% Team Red but for some reason I cannot get excited about the M18 OMT. It looks to have the ergos of a brick. A couple seasons ago I bought the DeWalt 20v OMT bundled kit with the 3-speed switch and that thing is an absolute home run. Not trying to hate on Milwaukee and maybe this thing is fine but from a design standpoint IDK, it seems like they kind of phoned this one in.

Bought this and as a welcome bonus it also came with a triangle sanding pad, a few pieces of sandpaper, and a cheap-looking wood blade. Honestly it was between this and the non-Fuel 12v that was also $99 and came with 2 batteries, but I can find a use for the bag, flip the charger for $20 or so, and after buying a 6 1/2″ brushed circular saw for $99 last week and a Fuel 18v angle grinder after my old one crapped out on the job I’m pretty much 100% on the high-end TTI platform with all of the low-end green stuff that’s in regular rotation out of my box.
If I used an oscillating tool every day I’d have probably sprung for the 12v Fuel, but this is more of an occasional use thing and it has to be better than my 6 y/o Ryobi. I’ll gift that to my assistant who does most of our drywall and trim work as a joke (waiting for the DeWalt to go on sale so I can get him his preferred brand for xmas) and be excited about finally being on one charger/battery platform…
