DRAWERS! FINALLY!

Packout keeps getting better and better. Im all Dewalt for powered tools, but the packout system is what I use and its so much superior. compared to toughsystem
Corey Moore
They’re stronger boxes, but I’d point out that functionally packout has just caught up with toughsystem with this cart, and still behind with the shelving solutions. The ability to actually work out of a stack you’re rolling around, without unstacking all the boxes is a big reason I passed on packout when they showed up. Still awesome to see how they’re approaching stuff and adding stuff like that light/charger.

Toughsystem is decent but Packout is more durable and offers more solutions than the Dewalt system. Seems as if they have surpassed the competition with these latest additions each of which are very well designed and packed with features. Not knocking tough system but they are now looking to catch up and Milwaukee has a lot of momentum at the moment. But whatever system you’re invested in is a winner for sure!

That’s true, even the guys with rigid I know are happy with em, and I’ve had the conversation about needs of users setting the bar. TS still wins it for me, wall racking is better, cart is better, tote is better, and gangbox that integrates toughsystem is awesome. TS 2.0 has been a successful upgrade in my eyes as well. I like the number of things Milwaukee has slapped packout feet on, but personal benefits still draw my line as I’m sure it does everyone. It’s always great to see folks moving forward with products, though.

Packout is way too expensive, which will be its downfall. Storage solutions should not be more expensive than your tooling, plus its way too bulky in proportion to the volume of storage space your getting. Toughsystem has excellent features for a solid price point. Durability is comparable to the packout for the most part. Plus, you can also use tstak/versa stack are good for compact storage.

Wow, that’s super nice additions! I wish they had a photo showing the inside of drawers. Guess we will see them soon. Very useful!
Matt
Excited for the (long overdue) packout drawers. Now they just need to keep their cool regarding pricing.
Also…so are the laser levels the new product category? Really hoping not, as while they seem neat, they’re not really..exciting to the point they warranted the tease.
Stuart
Yes.
I was told that this is the TOP most-requested tool category that users have been asking for.

Did i just completely miss any mention of that M18 Packout light/charger? I saw it on his cart but maybe i skipped part of the video?
Mike
I think they changed the video versus what they had planned, but still gave out the press material as if they talked about it in the video. All I saw was a teaser for a packout light at the very end of the video replay.
Stuart
I went back to doublecheck and didn’t see it in the video playback. It’s possible that engineering samples weren’t delivered in time for video demos or discussion to be included.
Doresoom
Well, I got the drawers, cart, and racking right in this year’s predictions!
Plain grainy
I had one prediction that I didn’t put in the comment section. That everything would be .Red. Even the worktop has a Red label.Early photos showed a regular Packout toolbox, with a thin drawer in the bottom. The drawer containment bars must slide back into the box when in use?

Looking at this picture, they seem to just hang down. https://toolguyd.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Milwaukee-Packout-2-Drawer-Tool-Box-with-Sawzall-Fitting-Inside.jpg

There are some exciting products there. Looks like Milwaukee is finally catching up to long standing product requests and mods people have done in the field.
Cart to hold units rather than depending on the wheeled base case. Could be good.
Exciting, but am afraid that the cost will be too high for this pro-sumer. Nothing has dropped in price, and I can’t see these coming in on par with anything else they already have. I love the packout units that I have … but the cost of certain items being double, triple and more of other brand’s solutions … ouch.
I would happily trade up all my Stanley boxes & Ridgid cases if Milwaukee’s prices were simply more reasonable. A bag or box case with interlocking provisions on the bottom and/or top should not cost double of its siblings, made in a different color, in the same factory.

Stanley B&D and Milwaukee Electric have no manufacturing in common.

I work out of my van so the pack out would be absolutely perfect If i need just a few pieces I can open the drawer and grab them.. When I am on a large job I can bring in the whole unit looks like a win-win situation to me
Mike
I would use to organize my gun cleaning supplies

Does anyone know if the open top crate will still attactch to the back of the 2 wheel cart with 2 of the drawer boxes on the bottom as shown in the promo image?
Stuart
I don’t believe there’s enough vertical space for that configuration.
