It’s no secret anymore, Milwaukee Tool’s Pipeline 2022 new tool event is just days away!
For the first time since Milwaukee NPS 2019, the popular tool brand will be showing off their latest and greatest new tools at a live event.
Milwaukee went virtual for 2020, and while informative, there’s nothing quite like seeing the newest releases firsthand.
The best part of live events, aside from testing the latest tools and accessories, is being able to ask tough questions to gain deeper insights. There’s always a lot to learn about the tech and challenges behind Milwaukee’s innovations and breakthroughs.
We don’t know what Milwaukee has been working on, but I know what I want to see.
Is this the year Milwaukee finally launches an M18 Fuel track saw? There have been many rumors over the years, but nothing official yet.
Will Milwaukee be announcing their own stacked-style lithium-ion batteries, similar to what Dewalt (PowerStack) and Flex brought to market earlier this year?
YES, we’ll be there. I’ll try my best to post the highlights to ToolGuyd’s Instagram channel, and I might also try to push quick video clips to ToolGuyd’s YouTube channel – if that’s something you might be interested in.
What new cordless power tools are you expecting? What do you want to see Milwaukee come out with?
Do you have any questions you want me to ask? Requests to pass along?
Responses to Readers’ Predictions & Requests
Here is a roundup of commentors’ predictions and requests:
M18 Cordless Track Saw – it’d be about time!
M18 Cordless Drills – I predicted a new subcompact drill last year, but we still haven’t seen it. It’s about time for an upgrade/refresh cycle. Here’s Milwauke’s M18 cordless drill/driver comparison chart. If they’re going to introduce a new model, they are likely to change it all up at once.
Cordless Jack – I don’t think this is likely, but an M18 model would be great!
Cooling Jacket for Hot Weather – Maybe, but there’s no signs or indication this is something Milwaukee is or would be working on.
Full-Size Router – Metabo HPT has a MultiVolt model, but an M18 1/2″ router might be nice. I’d say we’re 50-50 on this.
M18 Belt Sander – Readers shared there’s a new belt sander coming out in Europe, and so we might be seeing the same or something similar.
M18 Scooter – I’d say there’s a 0% chance of this, but one could hope.
M18 Auto Battery Jumper – I’d buy one, but it’d have to be inexpensive or multi-functional.
Powered Wheelbarrow or Cart – Makita has one, but it’s pricey and I’ve heard power-hungry. It’d be interesting to see what Milwaukee could do with such a product. Maybe they can have a flat-bottom attachment for hauling two stacks of Packout tool boxes around.
Updated M18 Surge – I don’t know… has the current model ever been lacking?
Updated M12 Fuel Jigsaw – Yes, the existing M12 model is long in the tooth, but so are other M12 tools. I don’t know how much of a priority an M12 Fuel version would be for them.
Cordless Pressure Cleaner/Washer – Just because other brands have one, that doesn’t mean Milwaukee will look to compete. Milwaukee has reminded us in the past that they’re not a “me too” brand. But if they can make something smaller, lighter, or better. And competing models have been out for a while, surely they’ve gauged demand and interest from M12 and M18 users. I’d say this is a “maybe.”
Rolling Packout Base with Extending Handle – I’ve heard this request a lot, for a rolling Packout base that combines their dolly with their rolling tool box, but without the tool box part. So, basically a Packout dolly with large rear wheels and an extending handle.
M12 Fuel Rotary Tool – I don’t think this is a high priority for the brand, but it’d certainly be nice to see.
Large Circular Saw – An 8-1/4″ circular saw sounds possible. I’d give this one 3-1 odds.
