Milwaukee Tool Surveyor Safety Vest High Visibility Orange

Milwaukee Tool announced an expanded selection of PPE (personal protective equipment) products a few months ago, as part of their Pipeline series of virtual media events. A selection of new safety vests is included in this expansion.

Milwaukee says that their new safety vests are designed for all-day comfort and to help keep users safe without slowing them down. The new vests comply with different ANSI safety standards.

Discussion

This new expansion includes 2 new safety vest categories – mesh vests in different styles and a surveyor’s vest – and an expansion of their high visibility safety vests with a new Class 3 option.

Milwaukee Tool’s previous safety vest lineup included Class 2 hi-viz safety vests ($20) and Class 2 hi-viz performance safety vests ($40), which are available in yellow, orange, and CSA-compliant options.

In Europe, we have a requirement to have the company name across the back (generally at shoulder height). There is not enough room for company branding with the reflective X across the back.

Still more options and higher quality are always a good thing.

      Branding or contractors company name?

I believe Radians or Kishigo are the leading brands. I wear a surveyor’s vest as an electrician, and the many pockets as well as the straps to attach a radio are appreciated. Milwaukee’s version looks like it runs at a premium of both brands, but it does appear more sturdy. I would appreciate trying one out, but it’s ultimately my employer/contractor who will likely pay for this.

Yeah that’s where I stand. I could want whatever but ultimately unless I want to pay out of pocket I’m wearing what they’re providing.

Can someone provide a reference to what the different classes mean or require? I’ve looked at surveyors vests for work, work in woods, walking the dog on the road as all purpose. Willing to invest in one that will hold up and last. Had considered the brands like kishigo and others that foresters use. Anyone with first hand on those vs what may be new t market from M appreciated. I’d bias to tried and proven
