I’ve been patiently waiting for the Milwaukee 6-foot tape to be sold as a standalone product, so every once in a while I do a search for it. I reviewed the Stanley 6-foot tape measure a few months ago, and was eager to see how the Milwaukee compared.
Yesterday, my search turned up a new Milwaukee 3pc tape measure set over at Home Depot, and it was marked down to under $15. Considering that the 25-foot tape measure typically costs $15 by itself, that’s a pretty good deal.

This 3 pack of tape measures comes with 25-foot, 16-foot, and 6-foot tape measures. The 2 larger tapes are Milwaukee’s general contractor tape measures, which are slightly different from Milwaukee’s magnetic-hook models, and the 6-foot tape is a little more different due to its keychain size.
The 6-foot tape measure, rather than having a belt clip like the larger tape measures shown above, sports a keychain clip. Second, the 6ft/2m that’s written on the side of the tape indicates it actually has both inch and metric measurement scales on the blade rather than an imperial-only scale.
When it first came out, Home Depot was selling this 3 pack of tape measures for $24.88, but it has since been marked down to $14.88. Since this is a Special Buy, inventory might be limited.
It looks like many stores have this combo in stock, so you might be able to get the deal locally. If your local Home Depot doesn’t carry it, you can still get it shipped to your home for free with a $45+ order, or shipped to your local store for free pickup.

Also if you don’t see this combo in your local store, ask a sales associate. I had trouble locating the display since it wasn’t anywhere near the other tape measures.
Price: $14.88
Update: The price has went back up to $25. We’re hoping that the price will drop back down to $15, but there’s no way to tell if or when this might happen. We’ll check back periodically, and you can of course also do the same. Thanks to Michael and Scott for the heads-up!

6 ft / 2 m is my favourite and high-usage tape, convenient, featherweight but very durable.

Who actually uses those keychain clips? I might be interested if the small tape had a belt clip – it’s nice to be able to clip it to a pocket.
The keychain clip just gets in the way, and it’s too small to easily clip to a belt loop.

I saw this deal over the weekend. For better or worse, though, the last thing I need are more tape measures. I went on a binge last year and bought various Milwaukee, DeWalt, Fatmax, Komelon, and other tape measures. Disregard the fact that I still have a few Craftsmans (from back when they honored the warranty for the tape as well as the housing) left from 20 years ago. Also, though I’m sure a 6′ has many uses, I’ve always found my 10′ Stanley works perfectly as a go-to for around the house.

They do sell the 6′ tape by itself! Thats how i got mine. But i did get mine at a small retailer that sells a lot of specialty parts. It had its own display and was $4 i think? I had to have it.

Oh dear, I just bought that 3 pack last week left over from the spring Black Friday special for $24.99.
I’ll be driving by there today, I’m going to make the switch.
The feel the mechanics of the Milwaukee as far as I’m concerned, are one of the best tape measures.

If you still have your receipt HD will give you the lower price, since it was just a week ago that you bought it. I know it depends on the store and the staff working, but I’ve had success with HD working with me on price matching and returns even with items well outside of the 90-day return window.

Saw those at HD. I bought the two 25 foot ones they had at the Black Friday deal this year so can’t really justify any more. #TIACREW

Looks like it’s back up to $25

Thanks for the heads up!
I was just at a HD yesterday and the price was still $14.88, I wonder if it changed at the stores too.
Scott
Looking online at my local HD, it’s back up to $25.

It’s still $15. Just picked a set up in Savannah. I really don’t need the larger ones but hey, they’ll come in handy eventually.
