It would be awesome if that utility knife could shoot blades out like the Spetsnaz ballistic knife but one after the other before swapping mags. OSHA would never approve. I wonder how long Lowes will keep Ideal and Fluke before dumping them in favor of another brand. 4-5 years maybe?
Jared
I really like my Milwaukee 4.5″ speed square – the Swanson looks handy too. Maybe not as flashy as the red anodized aluminum.
The Bosch promo looks like a good deal.
The Toughbuilt utility knife looks gimmicky – but the Toughbuilt stuff I’m familiar with has all been quite good. If it works well, I might switch from my “gimmicky” appraisal to “neat”. I tend to discount anything tacticool or gun-related on tools though.
Looking forward to hearing more about Flex.
Leo B.
The Toughbuilt knife looks interesting- good competition at least. I would really like to see and read more about the Flex 6 1/2” blade left saw, but it seems like most coverage is for the 7 1/4” blade right. More on the 6 1/2” please! Anything from a write-up to a review would be helpful.
Rob
For me, the blue plastic impact bits don’t seem to hold up as well as the red plastic impacts but watch it turn out they are exactly the same except for said plastic. 😂. For the square drive, I do like Wera better (I don’t bother paying for impact rated, the 80mm bits work great). The phillips and torx are just fine
Perry
I need to pick up the mini speed square. My local store just got rid of all their bosch lineup and replaced that space with Flex , so no profactor tool deals here.

Still no update on the Made in USA Craftsman mechanics tools coming out of Texas. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s going to happen… starting to feel lied to.

+5 I would hope they’d aleast have announced that pandemic delayed this ____ months or such.
Only reason I’m interested is there are a few things I want to get but I’d like to give them a look over. Especially if it’s really true that SK will be going away.

Got the large trailer parking spaces at my Lowe’s. I don’t expect any better/additional services than that

I noticed a rise in price on certain items. Or maybe a lack of major discount sales. Some Packout items surged $10 each. Is rising tool prices currently an industry wide trend? Or just certain items like Packout?
Stuart
Which Packout items?
A lot of products have been increasing in pricing due to raw material increases, shipping/freight increases, component increases, high demand, labor shortages, and any combination of these or other factors.
Plain grainy
Large toolbox, was $79.99, now $89.99; regular toolbox, was $69.99, now $79.99; crate, was $34.99, now $44.99! Other items have rosin also, depending on tool sales company.
Plain grainy
That’s close to a 30% increase for the crate.

Doesn’t seem to available quite yet, but the new DeWalt 12v circular saw caught my eye.

FLEX question: Awhile back you had a post about a FLEX hepa vac that was on sale. I bought 1 for me and a couple for my company and really like them, i am sort of aware that they have been around for awhile in Europe.. Is this the same brand or did someone buy the name to market the tools in the USA but the European version is different? Isn’t it a Lowe’s exclusive thing?
Stuart
Chervon acquired FLEX in 2013.
Their cordless line is separate from FLEX’s traditional areas of focus.

Gotta say…..kinda interested in the Craftsman Stick Vac since I’m on the platform and constantly vacuuming my shop.
