There are two things we know about the upcoming Milwaukee Pipeline 2020 reveal – the next episode will feature new Packout modular tool storage products, and also tools belonging to a new product category.
In yesterday’s post, I asked you to guess what the new Milwaukee Tool product category will be, and some of you had very good predictions! If some of your guesses won’t turn out to be true now, I’m sure they’ll come true down the road!

But today, let’s try to guess about what’s coming next to the Milwaukee Packout tool storage system.
What do you want to come to Packout next?
How about… a new Packout charger? Packout portable power system?
What about a Milwaukee M18 Packout vacuum? Oh, right:
New Milwaukee PACKOUT VACUUM – Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Milwaukee’s Packout tool storage system launched with a couple of tool boxes, tool bags, and organizers.
Then came an M18 Bluetooth radio, which is glorious by the way.
There are new half-width tool boxes, and also of course the Packout vacuum.
The wall-mount bracket came out last year.
Ah yes, and there’s the rolling dolly and tote boxes.
What else could we expect to see as part of the Milwaukee Packout modular storage system?
Maybe…
Packout tool boxes with drawers?
Packout multi-component tool box where you have bulk tool and small part storage? Perhaps with a separate clear lid organizer section and small tool box compartment below it?
What about a Packout tool box and organizer where you have a parts tray that cantilevers out?
Full or half-width tool boxes with removable organizer drawers!
The wall-mount is a great base for Packout tool storage products. Maybe this time we’ll see a new top unit? A Packout work top!
Remote control Packout dolly that follows you around the jobsite!
Packout crawler-bot that can transverse rough terrain with 6 powerful legs, and powered by M18 cordless power tool battery packs!
Sorry, I let myself get a bit carried away.
What about a Packout wall-mountable shelving unit, one where you could slide units in and have them lock automatically? I suppose you could do that with the wall mount, using it as a base unit, but a rack-type of shelving or drawer system could be more space-efficient or vertical.
Packout wireless battery charging solution. Sorry, I’m venturing into impracticality again, aren’t I?
MORE PACKOUT is coming. What do you think Milwaukee’s new Packout products will be?

Milwaukee Pipeline Episode 1 Recap:
New Milwaukee Cordless Power Tools for 2020 – Pipeline Rundown 1
PTBRULES
Stuart, I don’t blame you, but this is quite the Ad (Add?) read…..
I’m not in the Market for packout, but I do love seeing how inventive groups are, specifically Milwaukee.
Stuart
Not at all.
https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-cordless-power-tools-pipeline-predictions-2020/ had very high interest.
https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-tools-new-category-2020/ had very high interest.
Milwaukee sent over a newsletter today with graphics that were too convenient not to use.
If the Pipeline Episode 1 predictions post had strong reader interest, and Pipeline new category post had strong interest, why wouldn’t I post asking what kinds of new Packout tools readers predicted or hoped to see announced with Episode 2?
I’m collaborating with Milwaukee on launch-day content, and they’re an advertising partner (you’ll see the banner ad under the 3rd paragraph in mobile devices) but there’s no advertising, collaborative, or partnership-related incentive behind this. It’s purely 100% editorial. And if it weren’t, you’d see a transparency notice at the start of the post and usually the end as well.

I’m excited for the mere sport of seeing what they contrived. Love the pieces I have, but need a spark before I will expand.
Iron-Iceberg
Some type of a wall rack where I could slide out one Packout at a time with out having to unload the whole stack to get to a tool in the bottom box.
Branden H
I would love to see some sort of Packout cart that is along the lines of rubbermaid work carts. Not sure what it would or should look like.
Mike
The packout is worst system the boxes are well made but the way they connect is horrible if you have too much weight they are hard to separate and they always lock when you stack them I never lock my DeWalt and they stay put that’s why I won’t buy the new dewalt because they automatically Lock
Travis
You sir are in the minority then. And saying PACKOUT is the worst system is just ridiculous. haha
Ryan
Locking together is literally the whole point of modular toolbox systems. Also packouts only lock together if you intentionally slide them so the mating pieces engage. If you just set it on top they won’t lock like the toughsystem 2.0 does.
Frank D
Easy locking and unlocking is literally the point of the system.
If there is anything to complain about Packout, it would be the very slow availability, high cost relative to other storage options, how they have can have inconsistent styling and sizes from one unit to another, and how the toolbags are not worth even half the cost they charge. Least practical pouches by a mile, cardboard divider, etc.
Then we get to lack of integration options. I have a design for van shelving but lack the commercial metal workshop to do some trials and make it happen.

A picture has already been released/leaked right? It’s a packout charger + area light.
Unless that was a photoshop.
I’m a big Milwaukee guy BUT, i really like the T-stack system better- preferably the craftsman boxes actually because they’re water tight. BUT the craftsman doesn’t have a BIG drawer unit like dewalt does.

I am voting for drawers. That is the number reason I am on the DeWalt Tstak boxes platform.
90% of the time, I don’t wish to unstack all my tool boxes, all over the room, to get to my tools, and then having to stack them back onto each other at the end of the day.
I pretty much have the majority of my power and hand tools in Dewalts Tstak drawers, on DeWalt’s rolling cart…basically a rolling toolbox.
Dobby
I want something that is basically stackable drawers but that is less heavy duty than the tstak – anything lighter you can recommend?
Tim E.
I’m not sure I’d want to go any lighter than the tstak, I have issues already with my versastack containers being light and the cases bowing and making the drawers hard to open… the drawers themselves are pretty solid though, so that’s a plus, just wish they beefed up the top and bottom surround just a bit to stop the bowing there.
OldDominionDIYer
Love to see a drawer unit that would make my day. I also think a system/anchor for the convenient and efficient securing of my Packout stack in the back of my truck would be really nice. Also be nice if they created an insert for the larger Packout storage boxes that allowed us to more efficiency store our drills/impacts drivers, etc… not foam but a hard plastic insert that could house some of these tools rather than just piling them up in the bottom. Just a thought
Tim E.
They had the slots in the larger cart box to put a middle wall type thing, but to my knowledge never did anything with it. I too would like to see them make some lightly specialized inserts for the larger boxes to help with vertical organization and storing “common” tools.
Tom D
The drawer unit is literally the only thing I am kind of envious of on the Dewalt (my friend got that when I grabbed the Packout last Christmas at Home Depot). The dewalt drawer isn’t perfect but it’s quite usable for automotive tasks.
James C
Getting a little creative here, but what about something like a router table for use with the 18v trim router? Or maybe a storage box / tabletop for use with the portable bandsaw? Those could work great with the new vacuum for dust collection. Stability probably becomes an issue but maybe they could come up with a packout add-on with extendable support legs.
I’d also like more options that make sense in a shop environment but still facilitates a “grab n go” concept. The wall racking is on the right track. Maybe some racks that have drawer slides to allow you to slide out say an organizer and open it without having to remove it from the rack.
Lance
Packout MX Fuel powered M18 battery charging station. Make it plug-in to keep both the MX and M18 batteries charged, and have flow-through 120v outlets. Use the MX batteries as a UPS style backup.
Plug in where you can, and wheel around with portable power where you can’t.
Andrew
I’m really hoping for a Packout Power station , it just would make sense.
Jimbo
Just a thought to link both sections together packout van racking!
It covers both a new category and packout.
Plain grainy
I was thinking the same thing.

I would like the compact storage boxes to have a “no storage cups option”. That way if your buying it for a tool storage box, you don’t have to pay for storage cups.
