Olight has issued a voluntary recall for all Warrior Mini and M2R Pro LED flashlights.
This recall affects ALL Warrior Mini and M2R Pro flashlights. It does not affect newer Warrior Mini 2 flashlights.
The flashlights can inadvertently turn on in a pocket or holster, overheat, and pose a burn hazard. The recall affects about 215,100 units.

Affected owners are advised to stop using their flashlights and to contact Olight for store credit, a replacement flashlight, or full refund.

I filled out the form just now, and it was straightforward. For the replacement flashlight, they give you the choice of black or desert tan Warrior Mini 2.

I got the summer mini and noticed it got extremely hot after just a few minutes. Surprised it took this long for it to get recalled.

Most if not all high powered LED flashlights get hot. When used at max or turbo mode, brighter flashlights will often operate until a set time or temperature, and then throttle down to help control heat.
The reason for this recall is because, when the lockout mode is not used, movement can result in unintentional activation. When in a pocket or holster, the flashlight can overheat and reach high temperatures.
The next generation flashlight remedied this with a proximity sensor built into the head. For the Mini 2, if it turns on by accident, it will operate at reduced brightness and then automatically turn off after 60 seconds.

I describe it as being “overclocked” but for some reason with flashlights I mostly talk to computer people.

“Maximum performance” is more appropriate.
As far as I’m aware, the “turbo” mode is simply 100% output. Overclocked is >100%.
You *can* overdrive LEDs, but I don’t think Olight is doing that.

This is their second try regarding the warrior mini. I found that I could unscrew the body just a tiny bit and it deactivates the thumb switch while not creating new issues or making me remember how to lock the software. I appreciate that when olight tries to make something right they seem to go with extra inconvenience rewards. I think even though I haven’t had trouble I will take them up on this just in case there are other issues I haven’t encountered yet

Just don’t hold it with your teeth…you’ll probably, likely, possibly be alright…

First, the lamp head is what heats up, and in enclosed spaces where the heat cannot dissipate easily. Second, these are relatively heavy compared to penlights, and the knurling is aggressive. These will chip or break your teeth way before you will ever notice any overheating effects.

You may want to know that the replacement of M2R Pro Warrior is the Warrior 2 Mini. That’s great if you have the original Warrior Mini. However the Min seriesi is not on the same level of the M2R Pro Warrior. Olight will not replace it w the Warrior 3. The Warrior 3 is the succesor of the M2R Pro, the Mini 2 is not. They have since removed the Warrior 3 from Olights website. If Ford replaced your recalled F150, why would they offer you a Ford Ranger….

That is correct. But, you can also opt for a refund and the buy a replacement that is more to your liking.
