Spotted these Channellock-branded “Multi-Fit 8-in-1” dog bone socket wrenches over at the local BJs Wholesale Club. If I recall correctly, the set was around $20 or less. You won’t find these tools in Channellock’s main catalog, and they’re not made in the USA, but they seem to be of reasonable quality.
I just read an excellent article over at ITS Tactical about the hazards of buying cheap gear. Although Brock’s points pertain to tactical and survival gear, they apply equally as well to hand tools.
The other day there was a thread over at the Garage Journal polling members about whether they preferred quantity or quality when it comes to tools. As much as I prefer to use better quality tools, there are times when quantity and selection are a higher priority.
If you recall, SK Hand Tools recently declared bankruptcy. It was rumored that Ideal Industries would make a bid to buy the debt-stricken hand tool manufacturer. This rumor has turned out to be true, although the sale has not yet been finalized

Reader JeffD was kind enough to share with us his review of the heavy duty Seville wall cabinets sold at Sam’s Club. Jeff bought six of these cabinets for $58 each (a killer price!), and has evaluated them with authoritative detail. If you recall, these cabinets are 24″ wide x 28″ tall x 12″ deep, and feature […]

This promo the SuperJaws at $29 less than the rebranded Ridgid SuperClamp, and $49 lower than the Rockwell Jawhorse. It looks like the sale price is valid until July 22nd. With their pivoting box ends, Craftsman’s ratcheting elbow wrenches are anything but ordinary. Possibly inspired by similarly styled indexable ratchets, these elbow wrenches are designed for use in tight spaces and situations where a fastener may be obstructed. Curious about whether these new wrenches were innovative, gimmicky, or both, we set out to review them. In the end, […]

What’s more, these guys are offering 75% affiliate commissions, inviting countless others to share in the dirty work. Steve from Woodworking for Mere Mortals has launched a campaign to educate woodworkers on the perils […]
