There are a couple of interesting features to emphasize. With a 346 ft-lbs torque rating, Panasonic’s new 18V impact wrench is not anywhere as powerful as Milwaukee’s new beastly powerful M18 Fuel impact wrenches. That’s not a bad thing, as it does mean the Panasonic 18V impact is lighter and more compact than Milwaukee’s and other brands’ heaviest duty models, and also more powerful than competitors’ most compact lighter duty models.
Panasonic boasts that the new model offers the power and versatility for demanding use at jobsites and in industrial settings, and it doesn’t seem like they’re exaggerating one bit.
The Twin Hammer impact mechanism design also caught my attention, especially since it claims to provide greater torque, faster working speed, greater durability, lower vibration, and lower noise, presumably compared to single-hammer designs. Maybe it lengths runtime as well?
This model seems well suited for general construction needs, automotive maintenance and repair (except perhaps for removing the tightest of lug nuts), industrial use, and other such applications.
There is no word yet about price, but the new impacts will be available starting this month, so more details should be available soon.

Stuart, what market are they are shooting for with this gun?

Panasonic cordless tools seem to be more aimed towards industrial users, but they fit in just well at construction sites. They are also very well suited for very dusty or uncontrolled environments, thanks to their waterproof and dustproof IP ratings.

Probably the ” I bought a Panasonic and need to add something other than a drill to the kit” group… They may make quality tools and batteries, but they damn sure need to expand selection.

On the Panasonic cordless tools the 14.4 volt and 18 volt batteries can enter change with one another and still run the other tool thats a different voltage. Only company that I know that does that.

This is a picture of a 3/8″ brushed impact wrench. The Panasonic EY75A2LS2G57 brushless is a 1/2″ impact wrench that has outperformed everything else I have used. A far far superior tool.
