Last month we held a “tell us what you want” giveaway, and one of the winners had asked for a Kershaw Skyline pocket knife. While I have seen the Skyline before, I never gave it a serious look until I ordered one last night to be sent to the giveaway winner.
The Skyline is a simple-looking pocket knife that opens by means of a flipper mechanism. Push down hard on the lever, and the blade pops open and locks into position with a liner lock.

The 3-1/8″ plain edge knife blade is made from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel with a bead-blasted finish. Its handle scales are made of textured G-10, a popular fiberglass material, and the simple pocket clip is reversible.
It weighs just 2.5 ounces and folds down to 4-1/4″ long.
While the Skyline won’t win any awards for looks, it looks to be a no-frills high-performance EDC knife, and at under $40 it’s quite affordable.

Actually, its fish-like minimalistic looks might actually make it more attractive for some not looking for something flashy or grippy looking.
