RevMark reached out a few weeks ago, offering to send over a few markers for testing and review. Sure, I said. Why not give them a whirl?
I was a little hesitant at first, though. They looked… funny, for lack of a better word. A marker with a cap you clip to you belt?

The markers arrived maybe a week ago, and I left them on a workbench.
I had to cut some steel rail to size yesterday, so I pulled out my small metal chop saw, grabbed the steel rail, and then looked for a Milwaukee Inkzall marker. Um… where’s my marker? Where’s the spare?
Uch, do I need to head inside to find a Sharpie or another Inkzall? I looked around for another few seconds, and my eyes fell on the RevMark. Okay, let’s put them to the test.
I grabbed the red RevMark marker and clipped it to my belt. I went to grab a tape measure and the steel rail. Okay, 60″. I pulled out the pen with one hand, made my marks, and returned it to its cap.
Whoa.
I didn’t appreciate the premise of the RevMark marker until I actually used it. It truly is a quick draw.

You don’t have to clip it to your belt, it can be treated and used the same as any other permanent marker, but I think that’s a great feature that I will certainly take advantage of.
The marker has some nice features, too.
- Wide temperature range, 0° to 110° F
- Durable tip
- Writes on a wide range of surfaces
- 3-day “cap off” period
- Holster clip
- Made in USA
After making the cut, I played around with the marker a little more. I need more use and time before I can formally review it, but my initial use left me quite impressed.
Given what I’ve seen with RevMark markers, I’m ready to buy more. They’re a little pricier than Milwaukee Inkzall markers, common Sharpie markers, and industrial Sharpie markers, but the one-hand convenience was nice. It was effortless, too.
Normally, I need both hands to uncap a marker. I’ve seen some people use their teeth, but I don’t recall a time when I needed to resort to that.
There are 3 color options – blue, red, and black, and 2 tip styles – standard and ultra fine.
Pricing is $4.49 for 2 or $23.99 for 12 from RevMark, with free shipping over $20. You can also buy them at Amazon, but at “higher than I’d pay” pricing. Amazon does have better pricing on a 12-pack of black standard-tip markers ($21 at the time of this post).

Thier 2-pack of black is on special for $3.99 but with shipping it comes to $6.60. Amazon has the 2-pack black for $6.18 so whilst I agree that the Amazon pricing is more than what it should be it’s cheaper in this case. I still have a ton of various Sharpies so I’m hesitant to buy the 12 pack.
Thanks for information, much appreciated.
Stuart
That’s why I included links to both. Home Depot also has a 2-pack for more than $6, but seemingly online-only.
I’d be hesitant to buy a 12-pack myself, not after seeing how much I like it of course, and probably would have tested the waters with that 2-pack of black markers for $6.18 as well.

Thanks
I just bought 4 x 2packs from one of the Amazon third party vendors (JCSue) . They’ll be added to my stocking stuffer collection.
The total with shipping came to $11.21 – or $2.80 per pack. I’ll see how it works out (vendor seems to have 44 reviews – 88% positive) – hopefully not a scammer.
fred
Hmm – the JCSue listing for the black ones seems to have vanished on Amazon. They now list the Blue and Red ones but at a higher unit price.
RevMark
Fred,
Amazon has been extremely frustrating. They started out with the correct price of $4.50 per 2 pack, but for some reason they increased the price significantly.
fred
Maybe they have an algorithm that changed the price based on what they thought the market would bear or to test the market at the higher price. They certainly seem to build in the cost of shipping into their prices. Does anyone really believe there is such a thing as free shipping? So called interest free financing is an even better marketing gimmick. The frustration with Amazon is that you pay an annual fee for Prime that supposedly pays for shipping plus other perks. But overall we take the good with the bad – and Amazon is still pretty good IMO.
fred
Update:
I received my four 2packs yesterday – so the $2.80 per pack (including shipping) from JCSue (Amazon 3rd party vendor) looks to have been a good deal

There’s videos of people keeping the cap off for well over a week and then still writing just fine on Instagram and YouTube!

Stuart. You are just fountain info! If these are half as good as the Korean made Dixon Reach inksters I’ll be really impressed! Love those Reaches. I’ve gifted several with zero complaints.
And these are made in ‘Merica! Cool.

My dixon long reach has dried out from very very little use and always having the cap back on right after use.
A nice tool but doesnt last. Maybe the one i bought from lowes had been sitting on the shelf a while…

Been using them for about 6 months. Used for marking concrete and steel during commercial racking installs, in my tool belt while framing houses, and other random stuff. They really do last a long time on rough materials. I have one in all my tool belts now, so nice to be able to be holding something in position and then grab the marker and re holster with one hand, and never worry about losing the cap.
If you have a Menards local they stock the 2 pack for like $3
Andrew
Did you test the 72 hour claim? Not that I really care, more for schnitz and giggles.
Stuart
Not yet. I could try it, but results might fluctuate due to temperature, humidity, airflow, and other environmental factors.
RevMark
They can fluctuate a bit, but the cap off claim is true. We had someone on Instagram go over 100 hours without the cap and it still worked.
Stuart
I’m giving it a go with one of the black markers they sent over.
We’re now at 1 hour. I hope to check back nightly to see what happens.
Travis
How did this do?
Stuart
Really well.

Looks very nice, I ordered two pack black , so I’ll see Friday, more money spent because of Stuart, damn!

interesting find – how long before milwaukee’s or someones has a new clip design.
Curious to see how long that tip lasts with use. I like cheapo sharpies because I’m used to throwing them away after a major project – just because of tip wear. I view them as disposables.
but I keep a set of fines too – and those I’ve had a while. Would like to see how these markers do as a ultra fine point.
Paul
There’s a hole on the inkzall that allows you you to zip tie it to your tool belt. It also clips to your hard hat. I had one inkzall for close to 5 months. Nuff said.

Ah the little things, I’ll definitely give these a try.

On sale at menards for $1.99 for two pack.

They’re discontinued in all the stores I could see. Maybe 1-2 in stock if at all. And no ship to store free.
Rafael
I received a two pack and do like the markers. They are more convenient then regular sharpies especially when the cap stays on tool belt or belt.
