Ridgid Trim Router and Free Sheet Sander Bundle

It’s late October, which means lots of things. But to us, it means Holiday Season tool deals are going to start rolling in.

Home Depot has brought back their Ridgid trim router and sander deal, where you can buy a compact trim router and 1/4 sheet finish sander for the same price as just the router.

We’ve talked about this Ridgid compact router and free finish sander deal before, and it’s just as good now as it was last year and the year before.

Oh, and for a limited time, you can get $10 off your $100 order with coupon code OCTOBERHD. You’ll need to add at least $1 to your order, to bring the $99 router and combo price over $100. If you need ideas, consider Milwaukee’s Inkzall markers.

The deal is $99, for a $99 compact router and $45 sander. I’m guessing it’ll last at least into November, maybe December. or supplies could be limited, it’s hard to say. But I do know that the $10 off $100 promo won’t last long.

With the coupon, the 2-tool bundle is just $89 – assuming you add something else you need to get your order over $100.

Not quite a Ridgid fan? Bosch’s variable speed Colt router ($99 via Amazon) is a very popular choice, and Dewalt’s ($120 via Amazon) is a little more versatile, especially if you buy the dual base kit ($149 via Amazon).

I’ve got to admit, one of the main reasons I lurk and follow this blog is for infor the holiday specials. following the trends and deals is half the fun.
I’ve got one of these ridgid routers from a few years back. I don’t use it daily, but I keep a 1/4″ round over bit in it, sometimes a chamfer, for easing edges. once in a while I’ll use it for hinge mortises. Beyond that, I’ll step up to a larger tool.

    Their finish sander is awful.

I love ridgid sanders and I love how they hook up to pretty much every vacuum ever built but I think the plastic paper clamp on that finish sander is the worst thing anyone ever built.

      That sander is trash, literally.
Once the warranty period where they would replace the retention clip ran out and it stopped gripping paper again we threw it out. The clip won’t hold 400-600 grit well and anything lower than 220 will wear the front plastic.

We replaced it with a makita and a re-furbished milwaukee. Both have the old school double bar retention. No complaints.

Agreed. Would have been alright if not for the paper clamp.

Stuart, what bugs me the most is, since I live in Hawaii, I can’t get these deals because HD won’t ship certain things to Hawaii!
Deals like this and their Milwaukee 12v Fuel Hackzall with free 4ah battery! Most frustrating!
BTW, where can I find a Makita portable bandsaw stand?
    Sorry for my venting.
    Thanks, David

Sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I know how it feels to want to take advantage of a deal that I simply cannot. There are certain tools that are hard to find, and great clearance bargains can be very localized.

I recently ordered more Sortimo T-Boxxes, and it sucks that they cost so much here. Some of the models I’m interested in, and of course certain other European tool brands’ offerings, are substantially cheaper overseas and cost so much more from USA dealers.

It’s one of those things that we all have to try to not feel bad about.

Look on the bright-side, you’re in Hawaii & we are on the mainland. there is a lot more bright-side there
