Rockler-Bench-Cookies

Rockler’s Bench Cookies are puck-sizes spacers with a grippy pad on both sides. These can be used to lift your workpiece above your work table to facilitate edge routing, and many other tasks. Bench Cookies “lift, grip, and protect.”

To summarize, Bench Cookies offer 1″ clearance below workpieces, they grip workpieces to prevent lateral movements when you route, sand, or work in ways that apply similar horizontal forces, and they protect the workpiece from shavings, chips, and anything else that might be found on your worktable.

At $12 per set of four, Bench Cookies are fairly inexpensive, especially considering what they offer. You can pick them up from either Rockler directly, or from Rockler via Amazon. If you order via Amazon, Rockler orders of $25 or more are [currently being] shipped for free.

We ordered a set a few days ago and hopefully they’ll arrive soon. Thus far we’ve heard nothing but praise for Bench Cookies, and so our expectations are quite high.

Eh? Hockey pucks are about a buck apiece and would seem to do the same job…

Maybe, but then you need to separately source a textured rubber/synthetic material, and then you need to cut out uniform discs…

We figured it to be cheaper to try these out for $12 rather than try a DIY option and produce a potentially inferior solution at a higher cost.

Maybe after we evaluate these we’ll try to make our own for comparison.
