Starting this Saturday (October 3rd, 2015), Rockler is kicking off another sale. I usually don’t get too excited about their sales, because it seems like there’s always one going on, and nothing that I want is ever on sale. When I saw the flyer for this week though, I was psyched because they are discounting their 6pc and 7pc Forstner bit sets.
I already purchased the 7pc Forstner drill bit set years ago when it was on sale, and it has served me well since then. The set comes with 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 7/8″, and 1″ drill bits, but it seems like I always need a size that’s in between those offered in this set. That’s where the 6pc Forstner set comes in handy – it comes with 5/16″, 7/16″, 9/16″, 11/16″, 13/16″, and 15/16″ sized bits.

The Forstner drill bits in both sets feature 3/8″ round shanks, so you can use them with a drill that has a 3/8″ chuck. I believe that the bits in both sets are made from high carbon steel, but the website doesn’t list that information. The part about the high carbon steel is only found in Rockler’s sales flyer, and then only for the 6pc set. Both sets come with a blow-molded carrying case to help store the drill bits.

Good deal. Forstner bits are one thing that are worthless unless you get a decent quality- I learned this after getting a set from Harbor Freight that were so dull I had to use an insane amount on force on my drill press to get them to cut wood at all.

If you call them up during business hours tomorrow (the info is on your reciept), you could probably either cancel your order and order again , or they might be able to apply the shipping code to your current order.
I don’t have any experience doing this with Rockler, but it’s worked for me with other companies.
