Rockler Jet Parallel Clamp Black Friday 2015 Deal

Remember back to last Black Friday when Jet parallel clamps were being heavily discounted all over the place? Well, it looks like Rockler has the same Jet parallel clamp set they had on sale for Black Friday prices in their latest “Reduction” sale, but only at their retail stores.

This set includes two 24″ and two 40″ parallel clamps, four framing blocks, and four bench dogs for only $120. The set comes with two 24″ and two 31″ Jet parallel clamps, plus four Rockler-branded framing blocs, for $120.

Rockler says that the set is normally priced at $242. The discount price is only good in stores, so you will want to check this page (enter item# 55667) to make sure they are still in stock. Even then you still might want to call your local store before making a trip, just to make sure they have it in stock.

Rockler Jet Parallel Clamp In-Store-Only Deal

Update: The image Rockler provided in their newsletter is INCORRECT. We mistakenly believed that the $120 sale set came with 24″ and 40″ clamps. It doesn’t.

The promo set comes with 2x 24″ clamps, 2x 31″ clamps, Rockler clamp blocks, and no bench dogs. This promo set is NOT the same one as the $270+ free gift card bundle. The image at the top of the page was replaced to show the correct bundle.

It’s still a good deal, but you’re not getting the regular $270 bundle for $120.

If you can’t get to a Rockler store, there’s another set available online for $270, and it’s bundled with a free $50 gift card (promo details). This set is $270 at Amazon and just about everywhere else. This $270 set comes with more Jet accessories, and 2 of the clamps are longer than the ones in the $120 in-store-only set (40″ vs. 31″).

The ad I saw in my email also says the individual stores have “unique, exclusive” sale items. So if you live near a Rockler you’ll just have to visit it to find out what these items are. This “Reduction” sale only lasts 10 days or according to my calculations ends January 29th, 2016.

Concurrently with this “Inventory Reduction” sale, Rockler is also holding a “Resolve to Build” sale. Here are some of the other more heavily discounted sale items that are also available online:

  • Clamp-It Assembly Square for $6.50 (normally $13)
  • 17 Piece Universal T-Track set for $20 (normally $40, just the 4′ section of T-Track alone is $26)
  • Pocket Hole Clamp with Quick Release for $15 (normally $22)
  • Rockler 4″ Stable Gate Blast Gate for $3 (normally $6)
  • 6-pc Fractional Forstner Set for $20 (normally $35)
  • Full Size Square Ergonomic Carbide Turning Tool for $70 (normally $100)
  • Nova Comet II Midi Lathe w/FREE Nova G3 Comet II Chuck for $500 (normally $730), + $60 freight
  • Kreg Standard Bench Klamp with 3” Reach for $18 (normally $32, online only)
  • Rockler T-Track Table Top for $180 (normally $250)
  • Rockler Glue Applicator Kit for $10 (normally $20)
  • Rockler 3pc Silicone Glue Applicator Kit for $10 (normally $15)

The “Resolve to Build” sale also ends Jan 29th, 2016.

If you get the Rockler email flyer, but only got the $270 Jet clamp deal, it’s probably because your email isn’t tied to a store. (Stuarts revelation, not mine)

Stuart and I ran into this when he was editing this post. He said that he never received this flyer, he only received the $270 Jet clamps with gift card one , whereas I got the flyer with the $120 Jet clamps.

So if you do live by a store and you want to get the local sales, make sure next time you visit Rockler to mention that you don’t get the local store email flyers and see if they can tie your email to their store.

You can sign up for a local store’s email list from here: http://www.rockler.com/retail/stores

Just dig down to find your store and there should be an email signup box to fill out.

And this is when I discover I live 10 minutes from a Rockler store. Heading straight down after work. I’ve been eyeing these Jet clamps for a while.

Talking to the Store Manager of the Seattle Rockler store, apparently they had these clamps on sale since the start of January, but still had 15 in stock. Once the flier went out, both Washington stores sold out in 2 days. I did snag the Jig kit though.

I believe the promo 55667 Jet Clamp set is for the 24″ and 31″ set while the Amazon link is for the 24″ and 40″ set, hence the price difference. If you click the “Black Friday prices” link Stuart highlighted it will take you to a screenshot of the 55667 clamp set showing what’s included.

      Thanks for the correction!

Both Ben and I mistakenly thought that the $120 sale set was the same as the $270 set, because that’s what’s shown in the newsletter.

I’m sorry, I should have realized something was weird. I updated the post with the new info.

I went to the nearest Rockler this morning (Maplewood, MN) and grabbed a set of the Jet Clamps. They had a set out on display that I could play with first to make sure that they were the real deal and not some Black Friday cheap version. I just about got a hernia lifting the box, that’s also a good sign.

Speaking of BF. I talked to one of the sales people. He verified that they were left over from BF. He said their store got a pallet and sold half on BF so they had a half a pallet left. I didn’t count, but there were easily 10 sets left.

Another thing the store had on sale was 3/4″ 30″x60″ Baltic birch plywood for $30. If you haven’t used it the stuff is 14 ply, pretty damn straight, no voids, and a dream to work with. I don’t know if it was just this one store or nationwide.

I didn’t see any “unique, exclusive” sale items.

Alas the nearest Rockler Store is about 215 miles away from me.
    There is a Woodcraft – a bit closer – 130 miles

I’m not likely to be stopping off at either of them – but have stopped in ones when I happen to know that one is nearby someplace I’m visiting.

I’ve done the same with warehouses like Grizzly.

I used to also like to shop at local tool suppliers like A.W. Meyer in NJ, Coastal Tool and ToolsPlus in CT and Dynamite Tool in NY – depending on where our work took us.

Picked up the last one at the Houston store today. Like Greg mentioned above it is the set with 2 x 24″ and 2 x 31″ not the 40″ ones mentioned in the post.

Yes, Greg and Steve are absolutely right, I opened up my box and they are the 31″ clamps and the Rockler parallel clamp blocks:

      http://www.rockler.com/rockler-parallel-clamp-blocks

not the red ones in the above picture. Also there are no bench dogs.

I apologize for the confusion. There was no way to confirm that this was the same set from the Black Friday ad, until I actually bought the set (or astute commenters confirmed it).

I got two email flyers, the first one showed the set with the red clamp blocks and the 40″ clamps and linked to that set on the Rockler site. The second flyer came out with the snippet above saying they removed an incorrect link (not saying which one,) but still showing the picture of the wrong clamp set.

      Thanks! I updated the post.

This is still a great deal if you don’t mind the smaller clamp size.
