Save 20% on Gladiator Garage Tool Storage

Gladiator 20 Percent off Sale December 2010

Now through 12/31, Amazon’s offering a 20% savings on Gladiator tool storage products. Even if you don’t have a garage, Gladiator gear works well in a basement or even an apartment work room.

Gladiator quality is pretty high up there, and we generally don’t hear many complaints about their products. The premium cabinets are welded together at the factory, but we’ve had good experience with their ready-to-assemble units, although we did have to shim one joint of a 24″ cabinet with a coin during assembly.

We absolutely love their GearTrack line as well, and have quite a few hooks and accessories in use.

The 20% discount is automatic at checkout and works on just about anything, from <$10 GearTrack hooks to the bamboo workbench we burn for but cannot fit into the budget.

My experience with these are they are a good product but are packed in a way that invites damage during shipping.

True, but I can’t say I’ve had many issues ordering such products from Amazon. They’re usually great about replacing damaged items, and will pull products or change packing methods if they receive many complaints.

3 out of 3 for me came damaged. The replacements came via a different shipper – still with minor dings.

I was looking at the fold away work bench at sears. Very cool idea. I might try building something similar in my shop.

The have the appearance of getting you organized, but really don’t add a lot of value. They take up valuable floor space and don’t allow large objects. If you have small paint cans and gas cans these products work other than that, save your money and just stack your things on the floor.

It depends on what you get. I used GearTrack at the back of my workbench and a slide-out vertical drawer, and it took up hardly any room. A 24″ wall cabinet is mounted above a work station where nothing else previously was.

Some people like floor cabinets, others don’t. It takes a bit of planning and trial and error to find out what works. As for me, closed storage usually works better than open since I tend to create piles of loose tools and small parts if I don’t compartmentalize properly.
