Sears Black Friday Doorbusters Early Cyber Monday Sale 2012

Are you a Sears Shop Your Way member? If not, you might want to consider signing up for the free membership. Sears is currently having an early Black Friday doorbusters sales event for members only. Since the sale is through 11:59pm CT Monday night, this seems to be more of a Cyber Monday sales event, but it doesn’t really matter.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be for public consumption, but I would like to see the tool sales numbers compared to a year ago. I am thinking this huffing and puffing by tool users (including me) may not amount to much.

Maybe some store workers could give us anecdotal information.

I visited the local Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears last year, and Sears was the least crowded on Black Friday and the other times I visited throughout the holiday season.

Last year Sears reported fourth quarter losses of 2 billion dollars. This year their strategies look to be different, in regard to tools and store-wide.

They sell a LOT of tools during the holiday season, but this year they will need to sell a bit more.
