Here’s a look at the tool deals found in the Sears Black Friday 2016 adscan.
A lot of these deals are repeat deals from previous years’ Black Friday and holiday shopping seasons, but there are a couple of newcomers.
There are some interesting deals, but as you can see from my Sears and Craftsman Holiday Tool Deals Haul for 2016, nothing was enticing enough to follow me home.

This year, Sears is having 2 Black Friday sales events.
Update: It looks like a lot of Sears’ deals are already live!
Sears Black Friday DoorBusters
Event 1 deals start at 6pm Thanksgiving Day (11/24/16), thru 1pm Black Friday (11/25/16). Those are the in-store hours. Some of the deals might be online earlier and could last until later.
Sears 3-Day Sale Items
Event 2 deals run Thursday thru Saturday, 11/24/2016 thru 11/26/2016. There don’t seem to be specific times.

Do any of these Sears and Craftsman Black Friday deals strike your fancy?
No workbench deal again this year? Boo!
Points?
Some of these deals award you “$50 in Points.” This is the fine print I found for a current deal that offers points as part of the promo:
*Points valid for 14 days. $50 in points awarded as $10 in points weekly for five weeks beginning the week of activation. Offer valid until 11/29/16. Activation required by 12/30/16
The same is likely true for the Black Friday offers.
It doesn’t look like you’d be able to use the $50 in reward points for anything but big purchases. Maybe you can combine them 2 at a time? There might be fine print prohibiting it, we’re not sure.

if you need some storage or prybars you may be in luck. otherwise, i doubt i will venture in for much of the junk.
skfarmer
wait, they usually have the best deals of the year on high efficiency laundry detergent. my wife will make me carry it out.
Tyler
If I can order it for pickup, I think I’ll have a few things I’ll order. I’m not up for the crowds and interrupting family time on Thursday.
Ton
Nothing to really get excited about.
Jeff
That Gladiator wall cabinet looks interesting; anyone have any experience with it?
Stuart
That looks like a welded Gearbox. The pre-assembled wording might suggest otherwise though.
Wes
Its a welded cabinet. Bought one last year and it is much higher quality than the ones that require you to assemble.
JC
Have 3 of them, depending on your use for them, you may have to take a shelf out as I did. Use 1 for paint cans and another for lawn chemicals. As long as the space inside is good for you, you will be happy with the quality.
Blythe M
The multimeter, prybar set, and roller stand seem to be the standouts. If you’re looking for a tool set for the car, the ~$100 blow molded set has held up to my abuse and comes with a great selection of sockets in 1/4 and 3/8
Stuart
I saw those pry bars when I stopped in at Sears earlier in the month. They’re different than the previous ones, but surprisingly they’re still made on the USA.
Scott K
I bought an identical looking set (USA made) a few years ago on Amazon for almost the same price. Rarely used but happy to have em.
Brandon
I might be interested in some of that stuff, but my closest sears store is now almost 2 hours away since my local store was closed.
Stuart
Sears.com?
Tom
Those little nutdrivers are down to $8. Not bad, really.
The yeti
Anyone else notice how cool that BBQ set looks . My sears never has any neat stuff
Steve
I think I bought a set of Gearwrench flexhead wrenches last year…it wasn’t a bad deal. The rest of it I can get at Harbor Freight, and it’s probably identical if not better.
The gimmicky homeowner-level crap at Sears just drives me nuts…seems like they always have a new super-grip, super-speed, one-tool-for-every-job, and it lasts about a season until the next gimmick comes out.
Their pricing is kind of misleading as well….50% off a 100% markup! Wow…such a deal!
All that being said, I do still peruse when I have the time….mainly because it’s the only tool store you’ll find at a mall when your wife is clothes shopping. I just have to think really hard before buying stuff from that store, because I rarely end up with something I’m really happy with.
Tony
Quote: “….50% off a 100% markup! Wow…such a deal!”
My thought exactly. It reminds me of back when I used to live in Manhattan and would watch those stores in Times Square advertise: “Going Out of Business Sale!”. A few months later I’d walk by the exact same store and notice that they’re still “going out of business”. Well, I caught on to the fact that they were *continually* saying “going out of business” simply as a means of advertising (if you want to call it that) in order to lure in the tourists who didn’t know any better. 🙂
Johnn
It’s funny, in Myrtle Beach all of the beachwear stores are “Going Out For Business”. That small switch for/of is almost blind to the eye…
WPNZ
Amazon just added a new Dewalt deal, 2 free bare tools with select starter kit.

What’s Sears??? LOL 😉

Sears is dead to me, I’d goto HF for the same Chinese stuff, much cheaper and same warranty. The Craftsman name has lost all its meaning.
goodnightjohnboy
Its a damn shame that America’s most reputable tool brand has gone to shit. They used to have some badass tools that you could trust, but that was 20+ years ago. They lost a lot of good loyal customers when they started producing cheaply made tools. Now that HF is well-known, why go to Sears to get the same stuff?
The Letter J
I think the 10″ miter saw/stand and the $70 shop vac are EXTREMELY good deals if you’re willing to venture out Thursday and Friday, purchasing them individually.
10″ sliding miter saw/stand for $180 + shopvac for $70 = $250. You basically get $65 times two ($130) in SYW points, the way they pass out $15 off $35+ purchase deals.
The shopvac and saw could be nice DIY/garage additions and then you use the SYW on good stuff (Knipex anyone?). That’s really a pretty great deal..
