We’re not normally into Facebook apps or add-ons, but this new one by the Sears Blue Tools Crew definitely caught our attention. A few major tool companies and distributors have been using Facebook as a way of reaching the public, but this is the first tool-ish related app that we’ve heard about.
This simple Woodshop app allows you to create a mockup of a wood sign using various wood shapes and styles. Using the app is fairly quick and easy – log into Facebook, navigate to the Sears Blue Tools Crew Wood Shop app, and then follow the on-screen directions to create a sign that you can share on your Facebook profile.

The simple app is rather entertaining, and we found the brief animation of a router engraving letters into digital wood to be cute and amusing. If you skip the part where you’re asked to share your design on your Facebook page, you’re then brought to another page where you can save an image of your work (right click, “save picture as”.
You can also share or save the shapes without any routed letters, which can then be used for other fun purposes.
As you can tell, we had a little bit of fun with the app.
