Sevile Workbench with Wire Shelving

This Seville Classics worktable has a stainless steel worktop that measures 24″ deep x 49″ wide x 35″ tall. It’s NSF-certified, which usually means it’s safe for use around food.

The worktop is made from 304 stainless steel, but the legs are probably just chromed steel.

It’s a basic-looking worktable, but I find myself intrigued by its wire shelving legs and bottom shelf. Since the leg configuration seems to offer standard shelving spacings, you can add on additional shelves!

Right now I have rolling cabinets underneath all of my workbenches. But if I had the space, I would love to have something like this where I could add in a couple more shelves.

When I built a workbench, it had one bottom shelf. This was okay most of the time, but every now and then I wished I could change the spacing of everything. I’ve been constantly moving towards a bin-and-box storage system, and I have a very small workspace, and so I tend to prefer shallower shelf spacings that allow for increased storage density.

The worktable is priced at $140, extra shelves are $35 each, and casters are $20.

Today only, 12/8/2014, starting at 9am EST and for a limited time, the worktable is going on sale on Amazon. Sale price is $112. This is a Lightning Deal, which means there are limited quantities and a short ordering window.

While the bench is a little basic, I can’t help but think that this would make for an excellent assembly or finishing table. There’s no mention of weight capacity, but wire shelving typically have load ratings of several hundred pounds per shelf.

    Morning Stuart.

Both I personally and my workplace have invested in countless Metro Wire shelving units. Everything from storage and work surfaces to elaborate computer stations.
All these lovely knockoffs came about because Metro’s design patents expired. Most but by no means all interchange and use exactly the same shelving and post specs.
Costco and this is a Costco vendor brand that Amazon (also in Seattle) sells should interchange perfectly.

These are available at my local warehouse club, including wheels for $119. Very nice looking. Been tempted several times. The top surface is not really meant for heavy duty DYI work though with pounding an hammering and such, as it will dent, but it would make an easy to clean potting bench, hobby bench, etc.
