We have heard additional word about some of Ideal’s short-term plans for SK Hand Tools. As you may recall, Ideal recently purchased SK Hand Tools after their bankruptcy, and has been working to revitalize the brand.
Our external contact has found out that the new website should be up by next week, and that manufacturing should begin late this month or in November at a temporary facility. Ideal will begin warrantying broken SK tools starting in March 2011, and production at the new facility should begin this February.

Word has it that any SK products made overseas will be brought back to be produced in the USA.
Additional SK-Ideal updates will be listed here. Thank you again to our unnamed contact for his sleuthing efforts!

I have an outstanding credit from SK Tools from some returns. What is Ideal going to do about outstanding credits from SK?
Stuart
Lynne, that’s a tough question. Your best bet would be to contact the new SK once their website and offices are up and running. I would guess that they will honor those credits, but depending on what went down with their bankruptcy and subsequent sale to Ideal, they might not be obligated to do so.

You see things like this happen more and more these days.

I have a 3/8 drive ratchet #S-K 3870 that the ball fell out of and no longer ratchets, I was told when I bought it it had a life time warranty. I would like to get it replaced. It has been a great ratchet. Thanks Tom (PS) I have had it a long time

I have a #3870 S&K Rachet Tooland the slide keeper is broken. I would like to
be able to just order the part and install it myself, but Ideal Tool has stopped everything. I purchased this tool in the 1960’s and it fits my hand. It has a Lifetime warranty.
