New Stanley Auto Latch Tool Boxes

Stanley Auto Latch Tool Boxes

Remember the Dewalt Tough System tool boxes that we’ve been all excited about? What we like most about those new tool cases are their heavy-duty and indestructible-feeling structural foam construction. The only downside is that these tool cases are more suitable for heavy duty jobsite use than casual or DIY and homeowner use.

This is why we’re happy to see that Stanley is coming out with a new series of tool boxes. While not built as tough as the new Dewalt Tough System cases, the new Stanley tool boxes do feel extremely sturdy, and are perhaps made from a similar plastic material. We briefly previewed these tool boxes, and they felt about as solid as Dewalt’s power tool cases do, which, by the way, we’re also huge fans of.

Stanley Tool Boxes’ Auto Latch

Stanley’s new tool boxes feature a latch that can be opened with one hand! The tool boxes’ one-hand-operation means lighting-quick opening of the boxes, even if one of your hands is occupied.

The tool boxes also feature hold-down handles and the lids feature small parts storage compartments. There will be three sizes: 16-inch (STST16410) with a 50-lb load capacity, 19-inch (STST19410) with 55-lb load capacity, and 24-inch (STST24410) with 24-inch load capacity, with respective prices of about $10-13, $15-18, and $23-25.

Two more points – the tool boxes have padlock eyes so you can secure your tools, and come with tool tote trays. I’m not really a fan of tote trays, but they’re there if you need or want them.
