A couple of readers have been asking about the new Stanley Fubar Demolition Bar. We received a review sample the other day, and promptly put together a quick hands-on demo video.

We’re working on a review of the Fubar, and might put together another video showing how well it performs. Since quite a few more people have been asking about its suitability as a survival tool we’ll address that too.

I feel like a stick in the mud saying this, but I can’t believe they actually named it the Fubar. Looks like they laser etch the tool “FuBar”. Either way, FUBAR (and all variations of the word) came about as an acronym of a vulgar phrase. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce the F in FUBAR as anything but a word that rhymes with Duck.

They probably figured it was more recognizable this way. Functional Utility Bar.

Just wanted to chime in that I’ve used the Fubar in a bathroom remodel. The thing really helps in a) removing stubborn wall tile and b)that FUGLY old teenie-tiny floor tile that someone in the 50s thought was attractive. It’s a beast of a tool. Thanks Stuart, for bringing attention to it!
