Over at Amazon, the new Stanley QuickSlide utility knife was introduced at a price of about $11. Now, it’s dropped to $5, but has “add-on” item status, which means it can only be purchased as part of a larger order, even for Prime members.
At just $5, when ordered with at least $25 of other shipped-by-Amazon items, the new QuickSlide knife is a much better bargain.
When I found out about this knife, I ordered a second original QuickSlide. I just don’t think the new version is an improvement over the original, Instead, it looks like a completely different model with different appeal.
Compared to the original QuickSlide, the new version looks smaller, lighter, and more compact. Plus, the built-in carabiner makes this a great strap-to-your bag knife.
Note: I believe that this could be a permanent price drop, but it’s possible that it’s only a temporary price reduction. Other sellers still offer it for $10+.
Update: Thanks to readers’ comments, we now know that Home Depot and other retailers are offering the V2 (or V3?) QuickSlide for $5 as well.
