Sys-Cart Base, a Systainer Mounting Platform

Tanos Sys-Cart Base

Let’s say you want to securely mount your Festool or Tanos Systainers to a fixed location, such as a shelf or the floor, or to a mobile location, such as a custom-built platform or a mobile workstation. Well, now you can.

The new Sys-Cart base is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a Systainer Cart ($85 via Amazon) but without caster wheels – it’s just the base. Instead of casters, you get four 3/8″ mounting holes.

Sys-Cart Systainer Mounting Accessory

Lee Valley looks to be the first USA distributor, and they put together a sample arrangement with a couple of Systainers to show how the base could be used. The Sys-Cart base is compatible with original Systainers, T-Loc Systainers, newer Systainer accessories such as the cantilever toolbox, and Sortainer organizers.

External dimensions: 518 mm x 364 mm x 46 mm (20.4″ x 14.3″ x 1.8″).

Tanos Sys-Cart Base Wall Mount

An addition to horizontal racking and custom Systainer cart applications, the new base can also be mounted to vertical surfaces, such as walls. When mounted to the wall, the base is the perfect place for an individual Systainer loaded with first aid or spill cleanup supplies.

Now, if only Bosch and Dewalt each came out with something similar for their L-Boxx and ToughSystem storage systems!

Price: $45

  1. But its me!

There may be a cheat of sorts for the L-Boxx series. Bosch shows as new, and Amazon has them in stock, (http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-L-RACK-T-Top-Handle-L-RACK-S/dp/B00E1RVT30) the L-RACK-T lid. Looks like it has the connecting piece built in to it for mating with the L-Boxx units. At $19 I may take a stab at mounting one onto a plywood base with casters. Sure beats the pricey, but nice!, rolling base Bosch sells.

Sortimo makes a wall dock and/or floor dock for l-Boxxes (and their line of vehicle shelving which the l-Boxxes are compatible with), but I don’t expect to be able to buy them through bosch anytime soon. I still wish they’d sell their molded l-boxx inserts separately for their users who already have the tools.

I have whole list of Sortimo accessories I want for my L-Boxxes. But for some reason the US market is ignored.

I feel your pain. From what I’ve heard, the US distributor doesn’t respond to inquiries regarding selling them either.

The earlier idea to use the L-Rack top to build a base around is interesting and cheap enough to experiment with.

    Hello.
Dewalt has the same kind of base with wheels – Dewalt Tstak Roller Cart (DWST17889). [news: Posted on February 19th, 2013 , link: https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-tstak-organizer-deep-tool-box-cart/%5D

Yes, but I’m talking about a non-mobile shelving bracket. I suppose one could disassemble Dewalt and Bosch dollies to get something suitable, but both brands dolly platforms are bulkier than Tanos and Festool’s.
