A few days ago, we talked a bit about Woodpeckers’ new shelf pin drilling jig. Since then, I remembered that Lee Valley sells a similar system by Veritas, and decided that a comparison was in order.

New Lee Valley Veritas Detail Rabbet Planes

Lee Valley just announced a new line of Veritas detail rabbet planes, which are now available in 5 sizes. These very slender planes ( Lee Valley describes them as pocket-sized), can be used for fine controlled and precice cuts that typically call for a chisel, such as when cleaning dados or grooves.
