Christopher Schwarz, former editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine, has recently launched a new book with publishing company Lost Art Press, which he co-founded. The Anarchist’s Tool Chest focuses on how one can build anything with less than 50 high quality woodworking tools.
The book is 480 pages, and in addition to insightful discussion of tools and how to choose the right ones regardless of brand or vintage, there is also a guide about how to build a “proper chest”.

I’ll be picking up a copy next month, so look for the review sometime in August (I’m a slow reader).

I’ve read the book once already (it’s 600+ pages), and I’m about to start reading it again. Schwarz does a great job of really distilling it down to what it’s all about; creating something, rather than wasting time and money on tons of tools and furniture that doesn’t last 3 years. I’ll also be doing a proper review here shortly, once I find a minute.
