Home Depot Tool Deals of the Day 3-20-2023

Home Depot has a new round of tools deals of the day, featuring Milwaukee cordless power tools, as well as Ridgid, Ryobi, and Dewalt offerings.

There are deals on a Dewalt ToughSystem tool bag, Ryobi cordless outdoor power tools, accessories, and a Dewalt 10″ single bevel miter saw with folding workstand bundle.

As usual, there are plenty of bundles included in today’s deals, such as M12 straight and right angle die grinders for far less than they would cost separately.

Home Depot also has tool deals of the week, featuring plumbing tools and equipment, such as Milwaukee hand tools and cordless drain cleaning power tools.

Lowe’s has deals of the day on a Dewalt 20V Max cordless grease gun, and Metabo HPT 8-gallon air compressor.

I just love that they have a deal of the day for anyone who needs to impulse buy a pallet of gun nails!

I think it’s more for the person who’s already been eyeing a Paslode nailer. Instead of going back and forth on it, they can just buy 120,000 nails and get the nailer for free!

Acme’s battery flash sale has the 5Ah PowerStack 2-pk for $299, but woot has it for $269 – https://www.woot.com/offers/dewalt-dcbp520-powerstack-20v-max-battery?ref=w_cnt_wp_0_31

That is the best price I have seen on them thus far. Still $27/Ah, which is about double what a good price on cylindrical cell pack deals are.

Big Richard. That’s an interesting but logical take on battery ā€œvalueā€. Thanks.

I should add that since they claim the pouch cell packs last 2x as long as cylindrical cell packs – if you take that into account – this is theoretically as good of a deal as if you were paying $134.50 for a 2-pk of their standard cylindrical cell 5Ah packs.

You are just paying twice as much for something that *should* last twice as long.

The Makita 4.0 battery+charger deal at Acme is only decent if you desperately need that charger. It’s more expensive than several tools currently getting a 5.0 battery as a free extra (cheapest option is a $104 drill).

Didn’t realize the 2x 5.0 battery deal is almost worse, as you can quality for the free 5.0 up to four times. So you can get two bare-tools (either the 104 was a different sku or they updated it but there’s still a couple $117 options) with a free 5.0 each for cheaper than the two-pack.

The Ridged miter saw stand looks good, but there’s a dent in my piggy bank where the money for a m18 track saw and accessories went. Should arrive Wednessday. Then I start saving for parallel guides, router attachment etc. What good is having all these great tools if I can’t afford to buy food?
It’s Spring, I’ll get the garden started. Fight the groundhog, rabbit and chipmunks for veggies. Rice and dried beans are cheap, so maybe I can get the miter stand.

Lee Valley has a lot of unnecessary tools that’ll make planting that garden unaffordable as well. You’re in trouble.

Working part time at a Transfer Station (town dump), provides me with lots of gardening equipment. And the occasional working tools, but my non bill/savings money goes to better tools. And pocket knives. It’s a good thing I don’t have a flashlight jones. Oh, I just got an affordable olight. I think I’m heading down that rabbit hole soon.

Why does your Home Depot “deals of the week” only connect to plumbing tools?

Because that’s their theme for the week – plumbing tools and equipment.

Google or other news feed? Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about that.

By the way….Ace Hardware has been running a very quiet but excellent sale on many Milwaukee tools. Big discounts but the range depends on the tool – bare tools and kits both. No “rewards membership” required but they require to order online for the discount (you can pick it up in a local store same day if they have stock, however…or free shipping for most). I got $35 off the 2962 M18 1/2″ impact and it was at normal retail. Some other 2-tool kits were showing $50 and $60 discounts. Worth a look. I tried to get the discount in store and was refused…irritating. Drove home, ordered it online, drove right back and picked it up – the cashier and store manager looked bewildered.
