This seems like a good deal.
How do people use glue guns in a wood shop.
Stuart
Thanks!
When I checked before, it was listed as out of stock and unavailable. Now they look to have 49 units in stock.
Side note – I recently started purging WordPress followers due to to 99% of them having been spammers, scrapers, or scammers. I mention this because I remember your email from this morning’s purge, before I saw your comment.

Stuart- I’ll have to check to see if I get dual emails. I already signed up because get the daily emails. Not sure why I did a Hide my email. Sorry.
Dennis
A couple days ago I signed up do be notified when this deal was back in stock. If they had 49 of them, I would think they would have emailed me. However they did not. So what’s the point of the notify me button on the Home Depot Website. I guess to collect email addresses to market to…
I then purchase the glue gun alone for what their website said was going to be $39.95. The listing said free shipping get it tomorrow, or free pick up in store get it tomorrow. Turns out if you selected the free ship to home version the item is an additional 10 dollars to buy. Just a heads up for others shopping with them online, be extra careful checking what things are supposed to cost at checkout. Furthermore free pick up at store tomorrow turned out to be not tomorrow but 2 weeks. Needless to say I am not very happy with Home Depot’s bait and switch.

Glue guns are awesome for so many random tasks in remodeling.
A couple examples from top of my head:
I’ve used glue guns to hold trim in place while PU glue is going off, while applying to a concrete step; support wood slab while flattening first face with a router jig; securing cable to the wall for cable management…
Bonnie
Pretty much, as a fast-acting gap-filling removable adhesive it’s hard to beat. Most of my uses are for jigs and shop stuff. I think my miter-saw dust box is held together entirely with tape and hot glue.
fred
We used high-flow 3M guns for making countertop templates. That has all but gone away. The last time I looked the guys were using a laser and software to produce a spot on cutting pattern – no more masonite and hot-melt.

I grabbed one of these, thanks. I already have that glue gun but was looking to get a second, so that plus a 2.0 battery, plus the rotary tool station for $49 is a very good deal indeed.
To answer your question, I use hot glue when I need things held together stronger than double sided tape but still able to be dismantled. Mostly for things like jigs or shop projects.

I jumped on the Ryobi glue gun deal the other day. Free included tool I chose was the 3/8” drive ratchet. Being it comes with battery and charger even if you use another platform, this deal cannot be beat!I have the standard Ryobi 18v glue gun and have been using it for years but was waiting till a good sale come forward for the dual temperature glue gun. That day is here!

I bought that ryobi glue gun, rotory kit on the last sale. Absolutely worth it. I wish the rotary tool was dual power but I got over it quickly. Is brushed but at this price don’t complain, they do offer a brushless and it’s much more expensive. The only ryobi tools I own are their hobbyist and I have been pleasantly surprised.
LarryB
Thanks all! I just ordered it. I do like Ryobi for the variety of tools and the bang for the buck. They work great for á homeowner, DIY and amateur furniture builder.
LarryB
Forgot to mention the only Ryobi tool I’ve been disappointed with is a stick vacuum- loud, inefficient and low run time. On the other hand, the small hand carry shop vac is great!

Ordered a pair of those DeWalt Halogen boots. Interested to see how they are.

ToolNut has a couple Deals of the Day, mainly DeWalt stuff – https://www.toolnut.com/shop.html?tag=deal-of-the-day
The new Atomic DCD794 at $82 is decent.
KokoTheTalkingApe
The DeWalt stuff at Amazon includes 2 4.0 Ah batteries for $129, and 2 6.0 Ah batteries for $185 (both 20v MAX). That’s about $15 per Ah, which is a great buy.
KokoTheTalkingApe
I might get a few of those Ryobi fans from HD for my brother. You’d rarely think to buy fans to make yourself more comfortable, but they can make a huge difference. 40% off!

I got the bucket top misting fan last year and really like it. I had to replace original misters with finer ones since you’d get soaked, but that was an easy fix.
Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing. Now they have the Whisper Series but I didn’t find mine to be too loud.

Toolbarn has some good Metabo HPT deals, $249 for the 1/2” cordless router plus free 4.0 multivolt battery and charger; also works with other bare tools.
Hans
It’s not a St, Patrick’s Day sale, but Acme is selling the Dewalt DWS 780 for $500. That’s $50 cheaper than Home Depot’s “special buy” offering.
