Lucifer TV Show Milwaukee M12 Cordless Ratchet

I’m not the only one to get a kick out of seeing tools I recognize on TVs or movies, right?

In Lucifer, Season 3 episode 26, a scene features Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) revving up a Milwaukee M12 cordless ratchet.

There are signs of wear on the ratchet, and so that leads me to two questions:

1) Did the prop master go to a crazy level of detail to get such a minor detail just right?

or

2) Did the prop master simply raid the film set tool box?

The episode also featured a color-coded Torx T-handle driver with sharpened tip, but I couldn’t recognize the brand. Is it a generic design?

Prop masters seem to love Milwaukee tools.

A few months ago, I caught an M18 light being used as a scientific instrument in the Expanse, and before that, a different M18 light was shown mounted on a spaceship inner wall.

What tools have you seen in fictional TV shows lately?

I have several versions of that M12 ratchet. (They could use a darn reversing switch)!
Red is a strong color in film/video production art direction/visual design prop use. And a shoot person may well have had it nearby.
While Bosch (not the name alone though) would be nearly the least likely unless for its near total visual anonymity.
We’ve placed “tool“ brands only for color value on many a set. (As long as the tool wasn’t the subject of course)…
As for the T-Handle it looks simply black with a band of red electrical tape for a pop of color. But for all I know it’s a brand I’ve never seen.
    Fun catch.

If you see a top-of-the-line tool on a tv show I can guarantee you it either belonged to a crew member, or was purchased as a prop by someone who wanted to add it to their collection after the scene was shot.

In the second episode of the Amazon Prime show McDonald & Dodd, Dodd pulls a multitool out of his pocket. Since the show is set and filmed in the Bath area of Great Britain I was expecting a Victorinox multi tool or maybe Swiss Army Knife. To my great surprise it wasn’t either nor was it a Leatherman or Gerber. The shape looked familiar, but it isn’t one of the higher end brands.

Being a Festool fanboy, I always get a kick out of seeing Festool/Tanos in shows. Particularly since Festool is still a bit uncommon in North America. Festool Systainers have made several appearances in The Expanse (Amazon Prime Video).
