Uncomfortable and Awkward-Looking Batman Batarang Knife

Blue Batman Batarang Knife

I cannot understand it, but people are praising these [trademark-infringing?] Batman batarang knives as if the blades were made of gold and granted everyone three wishes.

The double-bladed knife looks extremely uncomfortable and awkward to use, but beyond that the double-edged blade looks to have a practically unusable profile. It’s also advertised as having an ABS lock. Plastic blade locks? Surely that cannot be right.

When I went to NYC Comic Con to check out the Craftsman Bolt-On booth, I of course strolled around to see what else was there. There were several knife and sword dealers peddling “collectibles” like this. I’m sure there might have been a worthy product or two in there, but I couldn’t get close enough due to all the attendees gathered around oohing and aahing over the cheap and flashy sharps.

A couple of people emailed in about this, but I’m sorry to say – as cool as this knife might look to some, it just doesn’t look like a good product. Maybe I’m wrong, and that’s the point of this post – to invite opposing opinions.

A knife should not look like a toy. It gets in the hands of children and the unforeen occurs. Proctor & Gamble had to recall detergents because the pods looked too much like gum and was eaten by children.

      No argument there.

With a comic book character logo on it, do you expect it to be anything other than a novelty? I wouldn’t use this to cut anything just like I wouldn’t use a Lord of the Rings collector battle axe to chop firewood.

If you want a chuckle, Youtube search for “infomercial sword accident.”

I’m a boring person who likes boring things. Boring is good. Exciting means a trip to the emergency room. That batarang knife looks very exciting.

This is the perfect gift for that lonesome man in his 30’s who is still living in his mommas basement. Yeah baby yeah.
