Stuart–I have an LC model in the zippered (closed) style and really like it. Nothing else is built like it, nor probably weighs as much. It would be a real PITA to carry that much dead weight around if I were a contractor. I also purchased it back in 2004 or so, when the price was $99.00 from Amazon; the price has gone up to $139.00 last time I looked. I suspect a similar model that had a collapsible handle and a wheeled platform would be popular, and no doubt someone has converted their own to that configuration already. I like mine for the build quality and ability to put so much in it. My problem is that my right arm is now twice the size of my left for having carried it around from task to task. Oh, and my back aches, too….

These things are terrific. I have two, one (XL) for my work-specific set and one for my vehicle (LC) full of “normal” tools.
I’ve even checked the XL into the bowels of airports several times and everything came out peachy.
These are heavy-duty and, so, are heavy. That’s my only complaint – their weight, it adds up fast. But I only have to worry about carrying them, not that they’ll break open & spill my stuff. I understand newer versions have better parts-box storage too, that’s something I fight with – keeping materials in there.
The vertical tool slots help me focus on work rather than finding what I’m looking for (the huge failure of regular tool bags), and also make it more obvious that something’s not where it should be.
