Porter Cable’s 12V li-ion drill and impact driver combo kit often falls in the shadow of more premium offerings by Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch. We very briefly reviewed the combo almost two years ago, and our opinion of the tools is still overly positive.
These tools won’t win any best-of-class contests, but the combo is still a great value. Amazon has the set listed at $120, which is pretty good given the set’s $140 list price, but $99 via Lowes is even better.

For $99 you get the drill/driver, impact driver, 2x 12V li-ion batteries, and a soft carrying case. Both tools offer pro-level power and durability, and it seems that Porter Cable only eschewed top-shelf bells and whistles to achieve the lower price point.

You can’t beat that deal. I was in lowes yesterday for some machine screws and walked past a porter cable 18v display and they had some other awesome deals for their 18v tools. $39.97 for a cordless jigsaw (baretool), $79.97 for their jobsite radio, $39.97 for a 18v reciprocating saw baretool. Pretty sweet
