What are Readers Buying on Cyber Monday 2021?

Nov 29, 2021 Stuart 30 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

I always find it interesting to see which Cyber Monday tool deals readers are taking advantage of.

In case you also find it interesting, here’s a quick look at some of the promos ToolGuyd readers have been buying.

As for me, I still have some shopping to do.

Home Depot Cyber Monday Deal – Featuring Dewalt, Milwaukee, & More
Acme Tools – Save 10% off $99+ Sitewide

Milwaukee M12 Installation Drill Driver Kit

Milwaukee M12 Installation Drill/Driver

This M12 multi-head drill/driver is already promo priced at $199, and so Acme’s coupon does not apply. However, International Tool’s promo does.

Price: $179 at checkout

Dwalt DW735X Planer with Work Stand Package

Dewalt DW735X Planer + Stand Bundle

This bundle deal, featuring Dewalt’s DW735X planer package and mobile stand has already sold out at several retailers, and Acme is currently allowing for backorders. It’s still $649 at Amazon (I thought for sure they’d eventually drop the price), and luckily Acme is still holding firm to their $599 Black Friday promo pricing.

Price: $599

Milwaukee 2136-21 M18 Rocket Tower Light Charger

Milwaukee Packout 3-Drawer Tool Box

Milwaukee PACKOUT Tool Boxes

Today’s promos answer a question I’ve been asked for the past week – when will the Milwaukee Packout drawer tool boxes go on sale? It looks like all Packout products are eligible for this promo. Now might be a good time to add to your Packout stack (or start a new one).

Buy Packout at Acme Tools
Dewalt DCD703F1 Xtreme 5-in-1 Cordless Drill Driver Kit

Dewalt Xtreme 12V Max 5-in-1 Drill/Driver Kit

This looks to be the first promo that applies to the relatively new Dewalt multi-head cordless drill/driver.

Someone asked about this shortly after I ordered one myself.

Price: $161 w/ coupon

Buy Dewalt 5-in-1 Drill at Acme Tools
Dewalt DCK221F2 12V Max Xtreme Cordless Power Tool Combo Kit

Dewalt Xtreme 12V Max Drill & Impact Combo Kit

I thought I was getting a huge discount when I ordered this set Thanksgiving night for $129. I have zero regrets, but at $116 – oh boy, that’s even better.

Specially-priced promos are supposed to be excluded from Acme Tool’s coupon offer, but apparently this one got in under the radar.

Price: $116 after coupon

Buy Dewalt Combo at Acme Tools
Dewalt Xtreme 12V DCF601 Cordless Screwdriver with Battery

Dewalt Xtreme Cordless Screwdriver + 3Ah Battery

Dewalt’s cordless screwdriver is a fantastic tool for light duty fastening tasks where you want control and repeatability. At this price, I couldn’t resist adding to my growing Dewalt Xtreme 12V Max tool collection.

Price: $53 after coupon

Buy Dewalt Xtreme Bundle at Acme Tools
Dewalt Power Detect 20V Max Cordless Power Tool Kit with Drill and Impact Driver DCK299D1W1

Dewalt 20V Max Power Detect Combo Kit + Free Tool

This seems to be one of Lowe’s most popular tool deals of the season. The 20V Max Power Detect premium brushless combo kit comes with a 3-speed brushless hammer drill, 3-speed brushless impact driver, an 8Ah battery, compact 2Ah battery, fast charger, and tool bag.

The free tool selection currently includes the Power Detect 7-1/4″ circular saw, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, and the same hammer drill.

Price: $299

Buy Dewalt Promo at Lowe’s
Milwaukee Carbide Hole Saw Kit

Milwaukee 10pc Big Hawg Carbide Hole Saw Kit

I was told by readers that this Milwaukee hole saw is at unbelievably low pricing right now – a fraction of how much they typically see it selling for.

This does look to be a really good deal.

Price: $99.97

Buy the Hole Saw Set at Home Depot
Milwaukee M12 Fuel Impact Wrench Kit 2555-22

Milwaukee M12 Fuel 1/2″ Impact Wrench Kit

Hmm. Acme has 2 listings for this Milwaukee impact wrench kit – one at $299 that’s eligible for 10% savings, and another that’s specially priced at $219 with free shipping.

$219 seems like a really price.

Price: $219

Buy Impact Kit at Acme Tools
Milwaukee 2960-22CT M18 Fuel Impact Wrench Kit

Milwaukee M18 Fuel 3/8″ Mid-Torque Impact Wrench Kit

I’m starting to notice a pattern – everyone seems to be upgrading their impact wrenches this time of year. Although, at these promo prices and discounts, I can see why.

Price: $249

Buy Impact Kit at Acme Tools
Makita LS1219L 12-inch Miter Saw

Makita 12″ Dual Bevel Sliding Miter Saw

This indeed looks to be a good promo for buying miter saws that weren’t included in retailers’ Black Friday sales.

Price: $665 after coupon

Buy Makita Miter Saw at Acme Tools
Black Decker Workmate WM125

Black + Decker Workmate Portable Workbench

There are a lot of choices when it comes to portable workbenches, but it’s hard to beat the Workmate at this price.

Price: $20.99

Buy B+D Workmate at Amazon
Black Decker Workmate WM425

Black + Decker Larger Workmate

At least one reader went for this Workmate, which offers a bigger worktop, beefier base, and higher load rating.

Price: $69

Buy Bigger Workmate at Amazon
Bosch 4100XC-10 Table Saw

Bosch 10″ Portable Table Saw with Gravity-Rise Base

Amazon dropped the price of this Bosch table saw to $501.80. As a reminder, Acme also has it on sale for $499 after TABLE100 coupon. It’s good to have options.

Price: $499 | $501.80

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Air Compressor 2840-20 with Safety Glasses Bundle

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Air Compressor

A couple of readers asked about Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel air compressor. It was promo priced for Black Friday, and I was caught by surprise to see this Cyber Monday bundle.

If you’re on the fence, this is likely the best price we’ve seen and will see anytime soon.

Price: $269

I just purchased the M18 Compressor deal. I’ve been wanting that for a while. Home Depot has a better price than Ebay right now for it.

I’d suggest that no site has matched Home Depot for the bottom dollar savings they put together in their special bundles. Simply outstanding deals, especially on Milwaukee m12 and Dewalt 20v stuff this year. They don’t last though.

This year I bought $1000 worth of the HD M12 bundles to keep about 1/3 of and sell off the excess. Also bought:
    – Packout drawers at Acme – in person, they are ridiculously huge – I’ll be offing these too big for my preference… great deal at $299 for a 2 & a 3 with a bonus rolling base.
    – The Joker multipurpose wrenches and a wire stripped from KC
    – A Gearwrench combo from Acme I think
    – the Bosch Diamond bit set from Amazon
    – M12 rivet gun with an M12 stapler plus battery and packout box for $299 – Acme?

Probably a few more once the dust settles. Looks like all the best deals were pre Black Friday and definitely nothing in Cyber Monday trumped the BF deals…

Good thing is, after a week goes by, everything will be back at normal prices for the rest of the year, so selling off deal excess makes a profit nearly every time, as folks only have the regular prices to reference while weighing buying a NIB item .

I had four items I was watching, nothing worked out for me. The Toughbuilt quickset gravity miter saw stand(no price movement). The METABO 36 volt 2 1/4 hp plunge router( was looking for a deep discount , $40 off wasn’t enough for me to purchase). Was looking for just one Packout XL toolbox. Needed to purchase more to get free shipping. I watched HD for the 20 gallon Husky Pro storage containers with hinged lids, No price movement. I wasn’t in a big hurry to purchase, I will continue to watch throughout the year.

If you have a DeWalt 12V/20V charger, it’s almost insane not to buy that brushless screwdriver/3Ah bundle!

I also snagged the M12 3/8″ Stubby that Tool Nut had for $129 bare tool. I don’t need any more batteries, and I think that’s the first time I’ve seen that good of a discount on the bare tool.

Thanks for all your hard work, Stuart!

I’m glad I just checked here. I picked up that hole saw set in a heartbeat. The sizes are pretty much everything you need for plumbing and exhaust/dryer vents.

I might grab a few more, if the spirit moves me.

Those larger hole saws are very costly on an individual basis.

I bought nothing, and I felt damn good about making that decision.

I have more tools than I probably need, and certainly a large number of specialty or single-purpose tools that I don’t use often enough to even remotely justify owning them. Many of them I bought on a whim, or simply because they made life easier at the time for one project. Many are the more expensive, premium versions of tools that I could have (should have) purchased the cheaper home-center versions when shopping.

CY2022 will, for me, be about making better and smarter use of the tools I already own, not buying new tools to accomplish tasks.

I buy during the Bf and cyber deals because I couldn’t justify buying some of the tools I own at new prices, but buying on these combo deals and get one free offers and selling off the excess yields me a lot of free stuff plus some profit at the end. A d I don’t keep any older or otherwise duplicate tools; I immediately sell off my old saw or impact if I buy a new version… I’m a licensed builder, but work alone so I’m the only one that uses my tools and can keep them fairly nice shape so after 2-3 years of use, can still sell at decent used prices. I never buy any tool at full retail.

I don’t feel I have to justify my purchases . I buy what my mind tells me to. I’m getting older, but I’ve seen countless people make the sensible penny wise choices. Only to find that their saved pennys actually cost them big dollars down the road. I don’t judge other people’s purchases. I buy what I think is right for me, and I don’t care if other people call them toys or tools, I didn’t purchase any tools yet this holiday season. I don’t feel that makes me smart though. I don’t usually step where everybody else tells me to. I’m certainly happy for all those people that saved on items they were looking for. We are very lucky to have higher tech tools than our fathers had in the past. For safety & productivity benefits.

A few weeks ago, I used a $75 Home Depot credit card discount to buy the Milwaukee 3/8″ 56 piece socket set. Today, I used the Atlas discount on the 1/4″ 50 piece set, the Packout adapter for both, and the slim Packout. Basically, I pieced together the full Packout set for $205. The last time I bought a complete socket set was in the ’80s and it was all generic crap. I’m pretty psyched.

Nothing, but I looked on longingly at many deals. Being unemployed (hopefully ending soon) didn’t help, but we also just bought an expensive new TV and an even expensiver new sofa.

That and all the other surprises that come with buying a new (almost 100 year old) house this year.

The upfront costs on the TV & Sofa are quite high. But you don’t have to buy them every year. So your actual costs are quite low considering the number of years they will see use. I use that same “over the years” cost formula to justify some of my tool purchases.

A couple brushless M12 tools from Acme. I find the Fuel tools to be compact and pretty powerful, and (IMHO) most importantly, get the job done. On a side note, anyone have experience with JB Tools? They have a great deal on the Fuel M12 cut off kit (includes the guard, shoe and 3x cut off wheels) for $139.99.

I didn’t buy anything for Cyber Monday.
For Black Friday I bought a full set of the Wera Joker self-setting wrenches and some OMT blades. I also bought a Dewalt Atomic 3/8″ compact impact wrench before Black Friday but went back and HD honored their get a free 5ah battery deal.

There were some pretty killer deals this year but alas they were on things that I either already had or didn’t need so I held off.

For me, I bought a Makita XGD01Z 36V Earth Auger plus 3 (4, 6 and 8 inch) earth auger bits and a bit extension. I did this in 5 transactions to use the $25off Makita coupons.
I also had a 10%off promo with one of the vendors – that stacked and dropped the auger/drill to $517

For Christmas presents, I used KCTools 20% off deal to buy some Halder hammers and some Gedore and Stahlwille items. I use Lee Vally’s CM deal to buy some discounted gift cards as stocking stuffers.

Today – my emails included ones now promoting CYBER WEEK Sales – but also many reminders that this is a “Giving Tuesday” – and that it is a good time to donate to worthy charities. For my part, I do like to take a break from buying (tools and other things) at this time of the year – to help with my favorite causes and institutions.

Lowe’s got me… the Dewalt 998 drill plus impact with 8Ah and 2Ah battery plus free tool (angle grinder) was too good ($301.09 with Lowe’s card). I’ve been wanting a new drill and impact to replace my well-worn Dewalt of 10 years ago plus a cordless angel grinder for power-carving/woodworking for $200 (my dad gave me $100 for the two batteries and charger – a good deal in it’s own right).

Also, worth a look – probably for next year at this point is Armytek flashlights. I’ve had a Wizard Pro headlamp for 10 years and beat the sh** out of it and it’s still working excellent. They don’t get the attention Olight gets but they are every bit as good or better and a lot of the lights were 50% off except for new releases at 30% off this year. 10 year warranty as well (and they go good on it too – I know first hand).

I bit on the HD deal on a full 30-piece set (15 SAE/15 Met) Milwaukee combination wrenches. $169 for both wasn’t a crazy deal but still pretty compelling, and they are as good as I hoped they’d be. The organizers are an added bonus as that’s $20 you don’t have to spend after the fact. Also jumped on the $59 DeWalt cordless screwdriver + battery from Acme, that was just stupid cheap and it looks to have a great form factor for low torque applications.
